It is with heavy heart I write this...
I have finally reconnected with my best friend who is a paramedic who was sent from Georgia 2 days ago to Gulf Port, Mississippi before the hurricane hit.
He just reached me within the last 10 mins via emergency cell phone to tell me he was alive.
Thousands of bodies have been discovered throughout Mississippi in Gulf Port, Waveland,Hancock County,Bay of St.Louis.
They are hanging in trees and they are pulling them out 30 at a time. Entire families found drowned in their homes and washing up on shore.
The stories he could tell me were brief. National Guard is on the scene and arresting anyone seen on the streets.
The numbers are staggering and what I have been told tonight will shake people to their foundation as the numbers will be coming out in the next 24-hours of just how many people have actually perished in these and 3 other beach communities.
More to follow....
LOL! yes, exactly right! : )
Are you going to contribute ANYTHING today beside a herculean effort to save your own face?
but they didn't get that now did they?
They got a day.
This all points to the ineptness of that Mayor and the Governor.
So you want some kind of apology becuase now you've shifted your claims from Mississippi where this alleged killing field was...over to New Orleans?
Man you're wearing out the wheels on that shifting goal post aren't you?
First is was "whole families washing up on the beaches and people being plucked 30 at a time" in Mississippi...when that didn't pan out you started blaming debris on the beach.
Now that the massive piles of bodies aren't showing up in Mississippi...where the focus of the original incredible tale was originally about...you want to shift this to New Orleans?
I hope that plate of crow you're talking about warming up is for you.
"Hugh is one of the very best commentators around. He goes farther in depth than most of his peers. He's a law professor and he has good insight."
Thanks for the info on Hugh. Didn't realize he was a law professor. Perhaps his status as a law professor, explain his arrogant attitude. *shrug*
I have no face to save. I have done and said nothing here that I still do not stand behind.
What were they thinking? Or was THAT their problem? Each alone is responsible for ourselves; the lucky have help. These victims should have taken their last opportunity to step back from the coast, period.
We help the surviving "victims" pick up their renurished lives and provide them clothes on their backs, but it is a waste of good money to rebuild on the sands especially in the mud pit N.O. where nature simply reclaimed water's equalibrium.
Qaeda is learning valuable lessons for their next grand hit from this exercise of leaderships' feckless lip flapping.
Thanks for the update on the Crescent City JLO.
My prayers are with those people and their loved ones
But...The original debate and the original focus of this tall tale was on some anonymous place in Mississippi.
Please accept my apology. I did not notice you setting off some statements with quotes, and thought you were the author of the entire post.
Has the Aquarium of the Americas been destroyed? If so, we will be very, very sad. I always wanted to take our kids there.
in my bed asleep.....
working swing shift means I don't get to bed until 2 or 3 AM and then I don't get up until nearly noon some days
fun fun stuff
He teaches right down the road from me.
I'm going to bust a gut laughing. Please do not hold back! Only sorry that you did not blast the other two.
That said, regardless of the magnitude of the loss of human life, this should serve to unite us as Americans. The quibbling over numbers and political faulting will go on for months and years. I think MFH did a great service, since all the other media outlets were crowing about "dodging" a gargantuan storm.
Many of us knew that Slidell and Mississippi were much worse off than was being let on. That fact should not escape people when watching/reading "news".
"You are beyond irrelevant! Pith off TxRadioSchmuck!"
I forget...is this where I cue the Pee Wee Herman "I know you are but what am I?" pic or is this where I'm supposed to start wailing and wrining my hands in distress cause you tried to use mean words to hurt my feelings?
*rolls eyes*
Don't know if anyone has answered you yet, but I believe the President declared LA, MS, and AL to be in federal "states of emergency." I do not believe they were referred to as disaster zones until after the event.
Shep just said he was told by another FOX correspondent that citizens were seen walking around NO with AK 47's
Saw it. Read it. As of when I went to bed last night...which was 11am central in the states...he had done nothing more than rehash the story he'd already told.
*shrugs*
Oh and BTW...if the cell service is so crappy in Mississippi today...how was Brett Farve able to talk to his mom via a Houston TV stations cell phone...not a Satellite Phone mond you...but a normal regular cell phone?
You musta missed that one.
But you know that already, don't you?
And look at the urban legend tinfoil conspiracy it's turned into since! LOL!
If you'll notice that post again, someone ELSE requested that I ping you. Personally, I have nothing to say to someone so clueless. Whole towns have disappeared and you think that area is ok. Fox is reporting people dead in Gulfport/Biloxi and looters stepping over the bodies to get their goods but, hey, just a FEW are dead. Most of those cities are gone but everyone lived, right?
