It is with heavy heart I write this...
I have finally reconnected with my best friend who is a paramedic who was sent from Georgia 2 days ago to Gulf Port, Mississippi before the hurricane hit.
He just reached me within the last 10 mins via emergency cell phone to tell me he was alive.
Thousands of bodies have been discovered throughout Mississippi in Gulf Port, Waveland,Hancock County,Bay of St.Louis.
They are hanging in trees and they are pulling them out 30 at a time. Entire families found drowned in their homes and washing up on shore.
The stories he could tell me were brief. National Guard is on the scene and arresting anyone seen on the streets.
The numbers are staggering and what I have been told tonight will shake people to their foundation as the numbers will be coming out in the next 24-hours of just how many people have actually perished in these and 3 other beach communities.
More to follow....
Well, don't shoot me, but I'm driving. I guess when my boss says I can telecommute in a non telecommuting job I can sit at home.
But I did contribute my hard earned cash to three charities:
Salvation Army:

He said looters were everywhere, and most were armed.
The magnitude of it just blows my mind. There are going to be hundreds of thousand of people homeless!
millions...
There may be 40 times the deaths and a great, great deal more physical damage than 9/11.
By the way, I was a little disappointed in the Prez in his speech this afternoon, in that he really didn't press, rally, and prompt the American people to get together and sacrifice for this horrible event. He was a little flat.
I think the people would be more than willing. He has to ask.
Oh my God! I thought thousands but I hope this is wrong.
I think it is a Catch 22, if we conserve we limit consumerism and we slow the economy. When it comes to fuel I think he could ask people to conserve at least 10% but I think the price will do that.
Good one...
I just saw the local WFTV Orlando news and it was very touching. Meterologist Tom Terry is in Ocean Springs, MS. It looked bad. Steve Barrett in Slidell, LA. He encountered people who floated in a refrigerator to escape to high ground. Others told him people around them are not getting along and it was dangerous. They had to get out. Four guys from Orlando went to Biloxi, MS, and took supplies (generators, water, etc.) out there in their pickup truck and word spread about the guys with the American Flag flying on the back of the truck riding up and down the roads offering what help they could. More people want to go and help now.
Anybody listening to Brit on Fox? Shep just said thousands dead wouldn't surprise him. There are hundreds of miles of devastation.
One more thing to add to my story: The guys who went to help were among the first on the scene. People were yelling for help and still trapped in their homes. He said "I couldn't help everybody, but I had to help somebody. They thanked us in tears."
Look at the looting, shootings, rapes, hospital occupied, fire, rescue and police officers exposed to dangerous situations that didn't need to be, thousands of deaths, the list goes on...
Yes, I mean forced.
This thread was just mentioned on Hugh Hewitt, even mentioning the OP by name and said it was fear mongering.

You decide :
I can link 40 more like this.
Fourty.
God bless them !!! The need down there right now gets to the most primitive of needs ... hope I don't sound too un-Christian by saying I do think it's time for a "shoot to kill" for the looters.

I'll give you a comment. Thousands dead are being openly talked about on the news. Evidently, Hewitt needs to listen to the news..
Hugh Hewitt is an idiot. He can quote me on that. The mayor of New Orleans himself said that he believes that there are "thousands" dead in that city alone. I just saw "thousands dead" headlining MSN.com. What will Hugh do when these numbers prove themselves out?
No kidding! Let's see...
Re: The despair in Haley Barbour's voice was haunting.
"Well, there are the federal handouts he'll be lobbying for so generating public sympathy is in his own interest... So Barbour's despair might be over his own political future as much as anything else."
Yours truly,
George W. Bush
