Astonishing Exclusive From Mississippi [hundreds if not thousands dead]
Paramedic Rescue Operation | 8-31-05 | My Favorite Headache

Posted on 08/30/2005 10:10:45 PM PDT by My Favorite Headache

It is with heavy heart I write this...

I have finally reconnected with my best friend who is a paramedic who was sent from Georgia 2 days ago to Gulf Port, Mississippi before the hurricane hit.

He just reached me within the last 10 mins via emergency cell phone to tell me he was alive.

Thousands of bodies have been discovered throughout Mississippi in Gulf Port, Waveland,Hancock County,Bay of St.Louis.

They are hanging in trees and they are pulling them out 30 at a time. Entire families found drowned in their homes and washing up on shore.

The stories he could tell me were brief. National Guard is on the scene and arresting anyone seen on the streets.

The numbers are staggering and what I have been told tonight will shake people to their foundation as the numbers will be coming out in the next 24-hours of just how many people have actually perished in these and 3 other beach communities.

More to follow....

Good catch. Yes, maybe it was seven after all. I guess I'm still wondering how one person visited all those areas in such a short time in the middle of a massive natural disaster.

Do you think that maybe, just maybe, he was in contact with other resucers in those areas?

Hmmmmm, what a consept!

Why are you so bent on discrediting MFH?

Hope you mentioned the warm thoughts of MOST of the Freepers here for your hero-friend. Hope he can get some rest and continue on in what must seem a never ending task.

In my neck of the woods they found two kids dead in a closet after they had started a fire when playing with matches (4 and 6 years old). As horrific as that is - I can't imagine multiplying it.

Did President Bush declare the Gulf Coast a disaster area at least 24 hours before the order came down to evacuate New Orleans?

This is the only link I have.

"Please point me to one person on this thread, one Freeper, who, in your words, "wants", there to be thousands of deaths?

...and then let me know how you determinded so clearly what was in their heart?"

When someone questioned MFH's info early on, the hostile replies he got was downright amazing. If that;s not WANTING an unconfirmed rumor to be true, what is?

"Since NO didn't get the devastation that other areas did but they may have thousands dead as per the mayor, you don't honestly expect anyone of the naysayers to admit they might be wrong, do you? I don't. But I did as you asked.'

Nor will you admit that txradioguy, George W. Bush, myself or others had no issue with the estimated deaths. We took issue with the described killing fields in the OP. But as I mentioned before, who needs facts when you have mass hysteria.

I'm a pretty good judge of what a certain group of people on FR thinks, and I stand behind it; and it's also based on a variety of specific posts (now long buried in the tens of thousands of posts on the main Katrina threads.)

I think a contributor to it is they know the question is going to be raised if there was an over-focus on terrorism in comparison to natural disaster awareness, and that it's not a totally invalid question to ask.

I know that some of the same people that routinely mock posting about scientists warning of various natural disasters are some of the same people that get worked into a frenzy over a report of some swarthy guy taking a picture near a reservoir, or Joseph Farah's scare-of-the-week stories.

Those that went into attics took a big chance too,

Hearing about people in their attics and the water was still rising made my hair stand on end.

I can only speak for myself but my points were the lack of integrity among the MSM and their use as a propaganda machine. You obviously have more trust in the media than I.

As you are so new I will try and be nice, but you will find that people who have been here long tend to be know as trustworthy or not. It says a lot that headache's thread is allowed to remain and what is thought about her here.

Freerepublic beats the news media on most occasions on breaking news for just this reason. If her post is found to be inaccurate it will be shot down when facts can disprove it. Until then old freepers will find it most interesting.

Oh he's going to be slammed by his academia peers for saying that.

Actually most meteorologists agree with him; all the ones I know (and most are even Democrats) agree that recent hurricane activity has nothing in particular to do with global warming.

Get a grip. This isn't mass hysteria. Look at the pictures. Who could live through that? You have pics and an eyewitness account but you just want to keep whistling a merry tune.

It's not about wanting an unconfirmed rumor to be true. It's about wanting people like you to use some of the wattage in your head to realize that the MSM is not giving the full story if they were stuck on the line that only hundreds had perished. It seemed painfully obviously to most FReepers except for the few who've been acting like gigantic asses parsing words and calling out MFH's integrity. But aside from that, maybe the issue isn't a few FReepers relishing the destruction, but a few FReepers living in DENIAL of the OBVIOUS.

I recall all the America-must-be-punished comments on varioius threads here after 9/11. A regular deluge after Falwell said the same kind of stuff publicly and then had to apologize.

Woof, first you have to self-righteously smear My Favorite Headache for passing along a completely credible report which now seems like it might be an understatement. Then, as events and revelations continue to corroborate the report by My Favorite Headache's friend, you have to begin quibbling about the numbers and, of course, "questioning the timing of this."

That's for starters. :-)

I trust the media to find a way to blame Republicans or the rich for everything. Give them a few hours but I expect NYT to lay out a blame-Bush campaign by tomorrow. At the latest.

I hold few illusions about the MSM's agenda. And I have similarly low expectations for all politicians.

MFH: "The numbers are staggering and what I have been told tonight will shake people to their foundation as the numbers will be coming out in the next 24-hours of just how many people have actually perished in these and 3 other beach communities."

George W Bush: You seem to think that anonymously posting a hearsay account is more reliable than our vulturous national media. . . . When you enter Black Helicopter territory, we have left reality far behind us...

NEWS FLASH

Mayor: Katrina May Have Killed Thousands
AP - 24 minutes ago

NEW ORLEANS - The mayor said Wednesday that Hurricane Katrina probably killed thousands of people in New Orleans. "We know there is a significant number of dead bodies in the water," and others dead in attics, Mayor Ray Nagin said. Asked how many, he said: "Minimum, hundreds. Most likely, thousands."

Sadly, MFH has proven himself, and his sources, credible again, GWB. I hope you will eat crow and apologize to him and everyone else you have insulted in this forum.....but, I doubt you will, as it's obvious you're the one who's "left reality far behind" you.
