Astonishing Exclusive From Mississippi [hundreds if not thousands dead]
Paramedic Rescue Operation | 8-31-05 | My Favorite Headache

Posted on 08/30/2005 10:10:45 PM PDT by My Favorite Headache

It is with heavy heart I write this...

I have finally reconnected with my best friend who is a paramedic who was sent from Georgia 2 days ago to Gulf Port, Mississippi before the hurricane hit.

He just reached me within the last 10 mins via emergency cell phone to tell me he was alive.

Thousands of bodies have been discovered throughout Mississippi in Gulf Port, Waveland,Hancock County,Bay of St.Louis.

They are hanging in trees and they are pulling them out 30 at a time. Entire families found drowned in their homes and washing up on shore.

The stories he could tell me were brief. National Guard is on the scene and arresting anyone seen on the streets.

The numbers are staggering and what I have been told tonight will shake people to their foundation as the numbers will be coming out in the next 24-hours of just how many people have actually perished in these and 3 other beach communities.

More to follow....

The braying of a jackass!!!

I'm simply pointing out that the original post is about four communities, not an entire 125 mile swath of the whole coast. I guess the truth is offensive. I'd think you'd rather find other things I've said to complain about rather than to dispute the facts of the reporting which is the basis of this thread.

Actually, a high percentage of the MAJOR stars of the various networks were stationed in Mississippi, not New Orleans, for the landfall.

TWC had Cantore in Gulfport, for example.

While the landfall was occuring conditions were so bad in MS that those people had trouble reporting live; thus you had more reporting from New Orleans.

Mayor of NOLA provided the cue to report by stating "hundreds, maybe thousands of bodies in the water."

It sure sounds that way.

I believe there was a call for evacuation in MS before NO.

Was it mandatory? I watched it pretty hard on FOX and don't really remember it.

Yes...MS had the same watches and warnings as NO and I'm sure evacuations were called for as soon or even earlier than NO for the MS coast.

I don't know if there was ever a "mandatory' evacuation ordered in MS but again there really is no such thing; there are no circumstances where LEOs are forcing people out at gunpoint for an evacuation.

This is extremely risky, here are my 2 cents:

This is from post #1 from MFH

"The numbers are staggering and what I have been told tonight will shake people to their foundation as the numbers will be coming out in the next 24-hours of just how many people have actually perished in these and 3 other beach communities."

What was originally about Gulf Port, Mississippi and 3 other beach communities DID NOT not extend to MFH declaring that the mayor of Orleans (would) say there were hundreds of deaths in New Orleans...maybe thousands."

Perhaps a lot of us (me included) extrapolated and thought MFH's source implied that thousands perhaps perished on the Mississippi coast. And that is NOT the case.

Now, NOLA may well be another issue but was not the original topic of the thread.

The post by MFH has degenerated into shooting the messenger rather than the messenger. And then in turn, has deteriorated into us "shooting" each other.

Regardless, people have suffered and will continue to do so. Let's focus on solutions/ contributions to agencies, etc.

FRegards

"Thousands of bodies have been discovered throughout Mississippi "Denial is just another form of BS.

And you think that the EMT/paramedic actually saw everything throughout Mississippi? I think he was relaying reports from the four cities listed. Otherwise, why even list them specifically? How much of a disaster area can one person visit in four days anyway?

Sorry...I am not buying at all that a bunch of Freepers want there to be thousands of deaths.

Please point me to one person on this thread, one Freeper, who, in your words, "wants", there to be thousands of deaths?

...and then let me know how you determinded so clearly what was in their heart?

Thiis is a tragic, frustrating and emotional time for anyone who cares about this nation and its citizens. In light of that we should all be willing on both sides of an issue like this to cut a lot of slack...but that statement, IMHO, was way over the top.

Ummmmmmmmm......I think you're speaking too soon there and with far too much confidence.

" My comments are pretty accurate."

Not so far. So far your comments have been all twisting and contortions. Then you went vicious.

Re:The despair in Haley Barbour's voice was haunting.

"Well, there are the federal handouts he'll be lobbying for so generating public sympathy is in his own interest... So Barbour's despair might be over his own political future as much as anything else."

Your comment is vicious and disgraceful!

Yep, I also took some heat this morning for (1) believing the post of a to-be-trusted long-time freeper and his source....and (2) stating that in my opinion the MSM was holding back on bad news for whatever reasons of its own.

I shrugged the heat off with an icy peach Snapple (Snapple ain't all that good. Sorry, Rush).

Someone who SAYS he's working in the midst of a catastrophe.

That's the best you can do? Call MFH and his friend liars? Yeah. That'll excuse your sick humor about a disaster.

And then there's typhus and cholera and West Nile.

Bad stuff.

Then dehydration.

And animals. Pets. Snakes. Gators.

Exactly so. This is one thread relating an account from one person. And that's all. Yet, some people want to turn it into the report to end all reports on the topic. For their own reasons, they go much further than MFH or his source ever suggested.

Thanks for the level-headed observations.

Yes, on Thursday, if not Friday at the latest.
