Astonishing Exclusive From Mississippi [hundreds if not thousands dead]
Paramedic Rescue Operation | 8-31-05 | My Favorite Headache

Posted on 08/30/2005 10:10:45 PM PDT by My Favorite Headache

It is with heavy heart I write this...

I have finally reconnected with my best friend who is a paramedic who was sent from Georgia 2 days ago to Gulf Port, Mississippi before the hurricane hit.

He just reached me within the last 10 mins via emergency cell phone to tell me he was alive.

Thousands of bodies have been discovered throughout Mississippi in Gulf Port, Waveland,Hancock County,Bay of St.Louis.

They are hanging in trees and they are pulling them out 30 at a time. Entire families found drowned in their homes and washing up on shore.

The stories he could tell me were brief. National Guard is on the scene and arresting anyone seen on the streets.

The numbers are staggering and what I have been told tonight will shake people to their foundation as the numbers will be coming out in the next 24-hours of just how many people have actually perished in these and 3 other beach communities.

More to follow....

Bush declared a state of emergency before the hurricane hit so Fema could be prepared. He also pleaded with NOs mayor and the govenor to start an evacuation. Those 2 people seem incompetent.

As to the other cities, it was expected that NO would get the brunt of the storm. When the hurricane turned, it was too late to evacuate. I keep reading survivors saying they had weathered other hurricanes and thought this one would be the same. And I don't think evacuation is mandatory.

I think it's very funny that Hugh, who is running a banner ad for John McCain 2008 (which links to a Newsmax poll about McCain), is encouraging a bulletin board to be "responsible" about anything.

Plus, a little controversy with FR will surely help his site generate hits, which is how he sells his merchandise to evangelical conservatives.

To his credit, he didn't call FR a blog!

You may think it's funny for Hewitt to lose respect for this forum. I'm not laughing.

I trust My Favorite Headache more than Hewitt.

It is you twisting the meaning of the original poster of this thread that bothers me. Its a little thing about integrity.

I read the words for what they are and avoided re-interpreting them.

But you are confirming that this is about personalities, not a real news story or a FR exclusive.

Any other questions?

Yes, have you seen the video from Gulfport and Biloxi? There's a 20 minute video I can point you to if interested. It shows nothing but piles of rubble and bare foundations for *miles*. Any people who stayed are dead. We're not talking about a slow flood like in NO or Slidell, etc. This was rapid, inescapable destruction.

You've backed yourself into a corner with your position in this thread.

out of curiousity, what do you feel the likely range of the final death toll for the MS gulf coast will be?

Well, now, I skipped over the middle posts. I can understand why some might find posts like that a little kooky. As for the veracity of the initial report, I expect that it will be confirmed within the next few days.

I think had you left it at "well...I'm skeptical of this story" everyone would understand. I'm skeptical. But something tells me to harden my mind and get ready so I won't get a big shock. Better to face the worst and be prepared. Shock is not a state we can afford to indulge right now. The next seven days are critical. There may be hundreds or thousands of bodies as I saw in the ruins of the tsunami, but they'll have to wait. Saving the living is JOB ONE! I won't be surprised, however, if I find out this report is an early warning.

I think the Red Cross probably needs a new HQ, so donations will go to a good cause. (sarcasm)

Thanks for this report My Favorite. It is with a heavy heart I am reading your report from your friend. May he and all those who are involved in the rescue and recovery efforts in this area, be blessed with prayers. I pray for those who have perished, their families and all involved. May the power of the Holy Spirit keep the rescuers and those who survived safe.

Fair or not, I think the DUmmies will blame FEMA/BUSH if a specific, mandatory evacuation order was not issued for the towns east of New Orleans. Since hurricanes do change paths, and this one was so powerful, they'll say the evacuation order should have been given. As for the governor of LA, she did appear flummoxed and paralyzed yesterday; she did not show decisive leadership and seemed to be overwhelmed by events.
