WAL-MART A GOOD CITIZEN?
Federal Review ^ | 08/30/2005 | marblehead17

This may or may not be true. I just heard a Fox reporter say that a Wal-Mart in the New Orleans area opened it doors and told people to go get what they need to survive. If true, good for you Wal-Mart!

That was my point. But leave it to the Wal-Mart bashers to say it's not good enough. You know what I mean. Hell, I'd be happy if I could get full health benefits for $100 a month!! LOL

More than 70% of what I bought in WalMart Saturday was made in USA, with Malaysia & the Philippines next..............China made was very low on the percentage list

Wal-Mart sells Old West cap guns made in Italy. There's something about cap guns made in Italy that seems appropriate to me.

But they don't provide health insurance or a living wage. /sarc

Blue Cross with varied deductibles that the employee can choose from for full timers. Part time employees have a different insurance available if they want it.

Some times they can get state insurance free so they go for the free ride instead of paying. Just like in other companies!

I doubt it - and I am a Wal-Mart fan.

Wal Mart here in Grants Pass OR is sending food out to the fire fighters at the Deer Creek fire camp.

It is common for Wal Mart to donate when needed.

Yesterday I spoke to a friend of mine who drives for Wal-Mart. He and 49 other trucks were headed to the gulf with bags of ice. Yes, bless Wally World.

Go back to DU... WalMart is an employer. Who said employers have a requirement to meet all of their employees' personal needs. They are running a business. Something, I'll bet you could never do...

I watched an interview with their CEO. He almost made the stztement that taking care of Americans was more important, right now, than the companies profits! His only waffle was that he hoped the investors felt the same!

I talk with the young man, with cerebral palsy, who greets me at the door in Martinsburg. I constantly speak with the girls in the Deli dept, and the sporting goods dept., and none of them seem to be complaining.

I guess you know more about them, than they do!

Sarcasm means sarcasm. I'm a small business owner and I know all about running a business and making a profit.
