And listening to Haley Barbour on TV, I think some really, really bad news is coming out of Mississippi.

Yes. We have yet to hear much from the Alabama / Mississippi coastal areas. Although, I liked Gov. Barbour's comment today, that looters would be treated "ruthlessly". That kind of tough talk is surely missed lacking by modern political officials. Anyone who takes advantage of this situation should have their heads cracked with nightsticks wielded by old fashioned, 1930's era, 250 lb Irish NYC cops.

The DUmmies are upset that the looters are being treated so badly. They really think we should let people loot. See the DUmmie FUnnies for the DUmmies own words.

None of the Mississippi posters from the coast northward are online.

Howlin linked some pics earlier from Jackson Mississippi showing extensive damage at Mississippi College just west of Jackson.

The winds have done tree and structural damage. I have a lot of kin near the college.

I imagine the prolific freeper Onyx is out.

Steve Schwartz on the Weather Channel said earlier that the death toll in Mississppi was estimated at over 50 so far.

It's staring to pick up here in Nashville too. Calling for 40 mph winds even here and 70mph gusts...I lose my power in these hills even when someone farts too loud down hollow.

I believe the winds in Jackson were 100+

I don't mind looters who are starving and loot the closed supermarket. That is a matter of survival. Food tends to spoil anyway and is most likely a total loss.

But I have no tolerance of theft of wealth goods like jewelry or computers or the people who are enriching themselves on the misery of others.

Today, a caller on talk radio revealed how a father/friend of his was going to New Orleans to take care of his son. The son was a gunshot victim of a looter of his house. While the son was out helping neighbors, looters helped themselves to his house. When the son returned, the looters shot him.

Looters of houses and non-edible goods should be shot on sight. No questions. Looters force the redirection of critical resources and shouldn't be tolerated. They are a threat to the health and well being of those in the community and it shouldn't be tolerated. We don't have the resources to jail or arrest them or take police and guardsman away from rescue efforts.
