None of the Mississippi posters from the coast northward are online.
Howlin linked some pics earlier from Jackson Mississippi showing extensive damage at Mississippi College just west of Jackson.
The winds have done tree and structural damage. I have a lot of kin near the college.
I imagine the prolific freeper Onyx is out.
Steve Schwartz on the Weather Channel said earlier that the death toll in Mississppi was estimated at over 50 so far.
It's staring to pick up here in Nashville too. Calling for 40 mph winds even here and 70mph gusts...I lose my power in these hills even when someone farts too loud down hollow.
I believe the winds in Jackson were 100+

NerdDad from Columbus checking in. We have damage at our place. Tree took out all lines (electric, cable, phone). Will have to have 2 new poles, transformer and lines re-strung. No estimate on time to repair. Columbus has hundreds of trees and power lines down.
We are safe, no damage seen at first glance to the house. We have a place to stay that has power.
Our son's girlfriend is from Biloxi but staying with us. She talked to her dad in Biloxi last nite. He said they are still trying to find some of the casinos. Those they have found are either grounded (one across Hwy 90) or sinking. They live just around the corner from the McDonalds in several of the pictures on this thread. They got a little water in their laundry room and trees down in the yard but no structural damage to their house.
