Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island
IIRC, Best to broil it if you use brown sugar....I've been making french toast grating an orange and putting the juice of it, 1 tsp vanilla, plus the cinnamon in with the milk and egg.....REALLY good.
I recall an earlier DIL/Sanity Island thread, like in 2001 or 2002, when a group of dosers from all over actually met up. I'd be for doing something like that, it would be fun to meet with as many as could make it!
WE HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL TIME IN SAN DIEGO, GEORGE & LAURA!!!
The Hotel Del is where my best friend got married. I've gone to many a party in the Crown Ballroom, too. This is SO EXCITING having our President here. I hope they enjoy themselves!

Mmmmmmmm...that does sound good...I use Texas toast...sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, eggs and half&half..and fry them in butter...very tasty and very fattening..especially when I top them off with butter and Powdered sugar.
Just a little bit of you in that shop. ;)
Meeting for lunch with freepers is great, but vacationing together is even better....It's like a great big family reunion only without "certain people" you wish weren't related.......The cruises were fabulous, right Bah Bah!
Brown sugar would definitely be good!
I like to do my cinnamon toast in the toaster oven, butter the toast and then put the sugar and cinnamon on, and put it back in the toaser for a few secs so the sugar and cinnamon get a little crunchy - yum!
How did the shoot go at La Jolla?
No fun working with the beautiful ocean right there.
Toast dipped in egg and milk is "french" toast here.
:0) - did you buy anything or just window shop?
I heard on the radio (Roger Hedgecock) that the protesters are at the Del and calling it a "candlelight vigil" So now they are trying to hide their protests?!
:)
Re: toast. The egg dipped toast is what we call "French Toast" (although I add a little cinnimon to the egg before dipping)
OK at least there is something we call the same LOL though it is called Gypsy toast as well and I do remember once that mum did sprinkle some cinnamon on it rather strange to me maybe she had read something about cinnamon toast in the States and she was experimenting. Cinnamon to me is associated with fruit cake, or sprinkled on top of rice pudding or included in various apple dishes.
I have apple (and pear) trees ripe and have been making apple sauce and apple butter (and pies and crisps and...) with the apples and cinnamon....makes my mouth water
What is apple butter?
