reporter concerned that it, roof leaking may be a sign that it could get worse. People making their way up to the level where the concessions are. It started off as just a leak, not its coming in like a thunderstorm.

And do not forget all of those good things that we were cooking last night. Can you believe that someone sent me mail telling me to shut up and stop cluttering the thread.

They weren't brave enough to post on the thread and get chewed out by the mod's.

Amen.

I couldn't get to sleep last night, and couldn't sleep this morning. Grew up in New Orleans, moved away in 1959, moved back in 1975, moved away again in 1987, but still love the place. And the people.

This is the first year we haven't gone back for a visit. We always go for my birthday/Labor Day, but this year are staying home to put down new flooring. Lucky for us.

Is that why folks weren't allowed to sleep on the field, worries about structural integrity? I'd wondered about that.

After HUGO, we had trees down, no water, electricity or hot food and coffee for a week. Had to drive miles every day for a shower, meals, and cup of coffee, as well as buckets of water to flush the commodes. The HS where I was teaching at the time ....5 miles away... did have power and opened the day after Hugo hit, so you can see the problems. I never want to go through that again.

While in the early days of riverboat Casino gaming there was a requirement to be able to actually cruise the vessel, most of the state gaming authorities relented on that requirement as the U. S. Coast Guard began to stop it for safety concerns at various times. In the Mississippi coast, I don't think they ever cruised.

So the barges became more floor-structure only elements or the boats floated in basins. Then basins were built with the walls and roofs on foundations below the basins with the floors alone the floating element.

In most states however, the barge even if it a a floor alone, is a fully certified, air-tight, U. S. Coast Guard certified barge, vessel registration and everything.

Make sure you wear shoes! People in Fla. had cut feet when glass broke and they had to walk through it later.
