To all who answered my question regarding the casinos, thank you. Perhaps I should travel a bit more, hehe.
Saw one on NBC. Showed folks sitting in the bleacher seats calmly. It was quite early so folks were still trying to sleep. I'd bet those seats were really difficult to sleep in.
A CNN reporter said reporters were not being allowed into the Dome in order to respect folks' privacy. Wonder how the NBC guy got in?
Fox's Jeff Goldblatt also not allowed in or so someone said.
"Yup...it has to do with the law allowing "riverboat" gambling. They load passengers, go on a trip for awhile and come back. It's the law. They have to be moving."
Not in all cases. See casino in Metropolis IL. I beleive it doesn't even have an engine in it. Just a barge on the river ie., legally it is not on "land" so it made it through the legal loop hole.
Mayor C. Ray Nagin on NBC:
"Pumps down and seawall overtopped in 9th Ward area, some flooding, SE of Lake P."
I am being careful. cant believe we have power and hot coffee.
Brian Williams describing folks at Superdome as calm & subdued on MSNBC - wonder where he stayed last night?
Raining in the Superdome!
Get yourself in an interior room. That glass isn't going to last much longer.
We'll keep praying for you, dear lady. You have a "safe room" don't you?
Praying for your safety cajungirl. I hope your power stays on as that's always a good sign and we appreciate the updates.
LOL....... the guy seems to have a short fuse.
I had a microburst go through my nursery here in Pittsburgh five years ago (winds were estimated by FEMA as around 160 mph). It happened real fast, bu it was awful. We lost hundreds of 100+ foot oaks, some over five feet in diameter (which I loved).
I feel for all these folks in the areas involved. I hope they do not lose things they love.
Listening and watching some live feed links, there's a guy in the SuperDome that says the roof has been compromised. It's leaking and people are heading towards the concourse level.
Ditto.
God bless...God's speed...and keep safe. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Yep the laundary and my closet. I will clean it out by candlelight if it gets really bad!
Praying for a bundle of small miracles....good news that the river & lake are at low levels, that's one.....good news that so many were able to evacuate & others are gathered in the safest place available with water & food, that's two..........Katrina down so far to level four, that's three. Please Lord, we beg for enough miracles to spare these souls any injuries.

Good Samaritan laws kick in, unless there's negligence.
