I'm amazed those pumping stations don't have their own large generators. You'd think they'd work with the local utilities to colocate some combustion turbine generating capacity with the pumping stations.

A good observation, by the way. This "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation that inevitably gets hyped adds to leaders' indecision. It helps no one.

I believe MS prohibits casinos built on land, so they build them out over the water. Read that here yesterday.
Oh 120 mph is a high end estimate.
Yesterday Gov Barbour said that part of the stipulation of building the casinos was that they would have to be be "floating casinos"
