TD 10 did the same thing ... and then its remnants later merged with another wave and became TD 12 and then Katrina...
Illegal immigration isn't about the hurricane. As you well know.
"CNN: Slidell hit hard, but no details."
The wait for news from Slidell is unnerving! But thanks for keeping us posted nevertheless.
MSNBC reporter reprorting from Biloxi that the coastline has moved about 2 miles in. Says the storm surge must have been "incredible."
Even a couple of rounds at the wheels on their W-D shopping carts would do the trick... ;)
I spent a few years in Picayune in grade school, I fondly remember that accent from the teachers, good people there. I fear the worst for them, as it appears the eye went right over it.
OMG!!!!
slidell was under water last I heard.
WOW!
How many people live in Sidell?
Fallen trees and downed power lines litter downtown Houma .. Houma CourierHOUMA - A half hour before Terrebonne Sheriff Jerry Larpenter allowed deputies back on parish streets, 911 Director Mark Boudreaux helped me secure a seat on the fire chiefs four-wheel-drive truck.
Boudreaux had an ulterior motive, for he wanted Bubba to transport him to the Communications District building on Capitol Boulevard so he could check damage. Luckily for emergency dispatchers, the building was OK. Oddly, the sound of croaking frogs was loader than the whistling wind.
But all along Hwy. 311, broken trees, fallen branches, tattered signs and disconnected power and cable lines littered Houmas main thoroughfares. Perhaps the most damage in the city was downtown, where split hardwood and oak trees and shredded metal from tin roofs could be found on nearly every block. [end snip]
Thats terrible news for all those Hotels and Casinos out on the coast, hope everybody in them were smart enough to run.
I didn't see it at first - but you're right. There wasa slight westerly jog as it neared NO and then it resumed its northerly route.
Someone posted he's giving amnesty to
those illegals that came here prior
to 2005.
Not good enough........imo.
11:52 a.m.: Evacuees Huddle In Hallways At Chalmette H.S.
People who took shelter in Chalmette High School are now huddled in the hallways because the windows have blown out. The building has sustained significant damage. There are reports that the water is 10-feet deep near the high school and is rapidly rising. -- WDSU.com Web Staff
Hmmmmm... that jog looks like the hand of God pushing a hurricane...
But prayers for those in Gulfport and Mobile MS.
~26000, according to Google.
Wow, an amazing loop. Katrina DID just jog around N.O.
