I so disagree with that poster. I am having winds and trees falling, etc, and I enjoyed your posts. We don't all have to act like we are on the news. A little humor always happens in situations like this.
Don't take the ugly criticisms to heart,,that mean old poster doesn't know what he is talking about. Believe me in the shelter, you would be the person we wanted.
Walking behind Laz to check how many fingers he has crossed....
I do want to thank the reporters who try to give us a visual, including Steve Harrington. I, for one, would rather see what is going on, than just hear a description.
And where are all the tornadoes they said would happen?
I'm afraid the whole concept of building a major city below sea level is tragically flawed.
I'm trying to.
omg
I was reading over the weekend how land prices in FL have risen after last years storms, since now there are a lot of empty lots available to build big, new homes on...
Well he's probably hiding somewhere now. He's come to his senses. I hope he's okay.
Anyone know if this picture is from inside a tunnel?

Hey, I just realized the guy on MSNBC is one of our former local news anchors!
Thanks Karl, the US News photos are the best photos I ever see on any story. Excellent job. The water, it'll be one expensive mess to clean up. Ick
My ex-bro-in-law, who works for Georgia Power, was told to pack enough clothes for 2 weeks.
MSNBC just said Governor Blanco said the roof situation is "not a dangerous one."
I guess it's another "positive experience" for her.
Snakes will come out when the storm passes.
Snakes get disoriented after a storm. I
cannot understand how they keep from
drowning.
Whenever I see people wading through
deep water after a storm, I cringe..
b/c there could be snakes in there.
"Houses with people trapped in attics are now topped with water."
Oh no.
You and your dad stay safe. We all knew this storm would figure out a way to hit Mobile and it sure has.
Ms. Price will help us get a handle on the enormous rescue and disaster relief effort in the New Orleans area in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Callers with new information on the disaster are welcome -- toll-free at 1-866-884-8255.
St. Bernard is the parish immediately down river from Orleans Parish. There is at least one refinery there.
Well, the cynical (leftie) side will say "yes, Bush will sell off the SPR so he can refill it at inflated prices to help his oil buddies like he did when he filled it up at the beginning of his presidency"... but we have to recall that Clinton dumped "emergency" assets to help his re-election--even more than was used for the Gulf War!
Still, the refinery capacity is what bottlenecks, and there are many other complexities that explain that (like why we haven't built any more refineries!)
