That has to be, without a doubt, one of the dumbest things I've ever seen a newsy do to be part of the story.

Late to the thread, y'all. From this animation, am I seeing that Katrina has moved west AGAIN!? It looks like a direct hit, not the corridor between NO and Biloxi that I head of at 7ish this morning... How's the Superdome? Heard on the radio the roof is starting to peel off? I knew it was leaking like a seive, for sure.

Hurricane Katrina may cost U.S. insurers more than $30 billion, which would make the storm the most expensive to hit the United States, a storm modeler said.

But given the fact the water pumps are out and the fact the storm surge is hitting Lake Pontchartrain as I type this I do fear that the entire city will be swamped with at least 8-10 feet of water within the next 4-6 hours. And if it really floods we maybe talking damage in the city that could approach US$1 trillion.

I think that the media wants to make this storm look much worse than what it really is because for the 48 hours they have been hyping it at the worst storm to ever hit the United States and they just do not want to be proven wrong in their predictions as they usually are most of the time.

Because their justification for not covering Camp Qualls was because they were covering Camp Squalls?

CNN reporter in Biloxi reports that a woman in his hotel opened her door and the wind slammed it so hard the door took off half her finger. A nurse is treating her now. That reporter is going in now, winds 100 + MPH
