He just said he's waiting for the trees to snap. Then they'll go inside (if the hotel opens the door).

"He's holding onto a cable...sheesh."

Is he saying he can't go back in the hotel? Good Lord, get back inside. And let go of that cable, it'll rip your hand off. How can the cameraman hold the camera?

I was in NO in Betsy,,remarkablysimilar. The windows were breaking at Charity, power was off and the generator only lighted the halls. It was a total mess.

RE: In fact, I don't recall hearing ANY Louisiana officials willing to step up to the plate and tell people to evacuate. It finally took the President to lean on the mayor and governor to do something. Even then, they still had a wishy-washy attitude.

I didn't hear this! Is there a link?

According to the update quoted at post 1321, "the western eyewall...is over New Orleans." Isn't the Superdome in the southeast edge of the lake, by Arabi?

Well, Harrigan is locked out, and he is gonna get hit very soon with the brunt where he is at.

I do have some friends down there, though, like many of us do.

Looks like the eyewall is massively spreading out in an east-west direction - which significantly increases the areas that will be affected by the eyewall.

And it's keeping the surge bottled up in Ponchatrain.

Harrigan is a fool...this makes FOX News look worse than ever. He is truly going to get killed out there. That sign could come apart at any second.

Smart cookie there

This is just crazy. I know he likes to be where the news is at, but this is nuts. FNC needs to stop talking to him so he has no option but to stay in relative safety.
