Thanks. I didn't know that either.

We have Hot Spring pools in Oregon.

But here on the coast the pools are clorine.

I wonder why sea salt?
Isn't that hard on the filter and pump?

Or do they have a special type of system.

What about bacteria levels in a salt public pool?

I looked at New Orleans' Convention/Visitors Bureau and there seem to be a number of fine museums in No that could lose some of their collections.

For example, here is one:

http://www.confederatemuseum.com

This museum is south of the French Quarter and appears to have a very valuable and priceless collection of Civil War-related items.

I'd hope that some of the curators for these museums got many of these artifcats out of NO.

IIRC, the levee tops are 18' above the river.

Looks like jabber-jabber-jabber was the first FR fatality of Hurricane Katrina.

Yep. There's two mods here now.

Does that make you two another "Mod Squad"?

They're crazy! That's several blocks closer to the Levee and it's an all glass building. Extremely nice, but not the safest building. W staff is really stupid for not closing.

thanks Army. They usually either stay in port, or outrun the storms, but I got the impression this one sneaked up on them. The ship is the length of four football fields and is somewhat slow. Forgot to ask him how many knots she'd do. Do know they once dumped an entire load of Hummers into the sea that were loaded on deck in order to save the ship. don't know what they do with about a jillion barrels of oil.

The WWL stream seems to be dead right now. Could just be too busy. Anyone else?

So when are all the other nations of the world going to help us? We helped them when their countries had tsunamis, earthquakes and hurricanes.

Mexico is sending an extra large supply of illegals to help with cleanup and looting...

Just a quick note: I was living in NO in 1965 near Lake Pontchartrain, left for home 3 days before Camile hit. Where I was living was under 20 feet of water, snakes sitting on all the high spots Good luck all.
