The storm is not going to miss New Orleans. There is a chance the eye will move a bit to the east of the city. This doesn't help them with their water situation. It would mean slightly lower winds. Nobody in New Orleans should consider this storm anything less than it was a few hours ago. She is still extremely dangerous and still moving towarsd the city.
Amen!
It is working - it went for a short period of time - Lights on building across from the BeadCam went out.
Sidewalk lights outside Cat's Meow are off now...
Don't count your chickens...
The fat lady hasn't sung yet...
Oh my . . . I thought I heard the report that it was going to miss NO. My mistake.
The trees on the ParadeCam(StreetcarCam) are now thrashing like angry beasts (and actually look like them thanks to the low-res image and the way that the video compression blurs rapid movements).
That is odd... power out on that side of the street?
I'm also happy for those who were worried about their family crypts..

Grand Isle NDBC station reported 86 mph sustained winds at 3:50am CDT (1:50am FR time) - the station also showed a sigificant drop for the 4:00am report, though I think that is data corruption. The eyewall is now 21 miles away from Grand Isle.
Too soon to break out champaigne. Storm will be over NO til after noon
Hey, that whacky Sheppard Smith is still down on Bourbon St!
I hope he brought his wetsuit and surfboard.
Doesn't look very thrashy to me.
Tornado Warning in effect till 4:45am for parts of Hancock and another country (sorry missed 2nd name) in Mississippi. - 7 mi SE Pass Christian - Doppler Sighting
Someone at FOX News is obviously confused. They have a banner up saying that the eye is expected to hit land at 9:00 am.
How many miles to the East of NO is the eye going to pass?
Whoa.. The radar image I'm getting through Google Earth is showing a break around Grand Isle as if there is an eyewall replacement cycle and the new eyewall is forming at Grand Isle right now...?
I firmly believe that prayers were answered regarding the eye not hitting NO directly. Now prayers have to be directed against the possibility of a storm surge causing epoch flooding. Hear our cry O Lord!
