You are quite wrong on your timeline.

It was this morning around 9AM when the mayor went mandatory.
New Orleans is poorly run....that's just the way it is and everyone knows it and has been since the 70s at least.
However...that is way beside the point at this stage.
Prayers for my favorite Deep South city. This could be the worst natural disaster to ever hit the US.
I would have said ..."Fair citizens of New Orleans, despite the uncertainty of the National Weather Service, I am convinced that Katrina will develop into a Category 5 hurricane and hit New Orleans head on. By the time we get confirmation from the NWS, it will be too late to evacuate this city. Therefore, I am order all citizens to immediately evacuate
... and we will have opened both inbound and outbound lanes of the freeway to outbound only traffic.
Does anyone know if this hurricane and it's storm surges has pushed flying insects like mosquitos up north etc.? This evening I noticed an abnormally high quantity of mosquitos COVERING MY ARMS! I've never experienced this before in my area. I had to run inside. It's like everything south has fled upwards and outwards. I think residences in states like TN and others in the hurricane path better stock up on mosquito repellants.
Another question, Would it be safe to spray my outside dog with Deep Woods OFF repellant? He's being eaten alive by mosquito swarm. He is too big and sloppy to bring indoors, not house broken either.
Quite right...and Breaux Bridge is grateful.
I hope you told her he's not responsible for everything on the face of the earth.
Yep, I sure did. We don't talk politics much.
" Does anyone else see it, or is it just my imagination? "
Yes !
Looks like Planet of the Apes type face on the right, complete with under eye circles and an older man or woman on the left.
Very weird.
EXCELLENT IDEA. I hope someone in a position of authority reads your message and passes is along.
Did those in authority not pay attention during the last two evacuations from Mobile up I-65? Duh!
My friend who is in front of the TV set said that both in bound and out bound were being used to get people out. Can anyone confirm this?
I live up in Seattle where the worst thing we have to worry about is an earthquake every 500 years or so.
Every time I watch these videos they loop over and over on Fox showing cars sitting still heading North, and no carts heading South, I wonder, why isn't anyone heading North in the Southbound lanes?!!? I know I would, in a heart beat, without hesitation, and then worry about the puny ticket later.
So, you know that this thing is coming, but you don't leave until the authorities tell you to? Not me. I'd be responsible for myself and my family and get out of town.
That wouldn't be an original thought, since they do it all along the Gulf Coast already.
They keep showing cars in a virtual parking lot while the south bound lane appears to be empty. Why?
You would be, but the people who always wait for somebody to tell them what to do are the ones who are going to be hurt -- and those are the ones we're going to hear about.
Aren't you at the wrong web site?
Those are liberal talking points.
I don't know. I'm just saying that opening both sides to north bound traffic is routine in many areas along the Gulf Coast.
Actually 24 hours (he did so around 5am your/my Coachella Valley time).
Speaking of city politics and bumbling politicians....Desert Hot Springs is making the Sun's headlines on just about a daily basis. You live in quite the hot spot!
