Extremely dangerous Hurricane Katrina is bearing down on the North Central Gulf of Mexico and New Orleans metro area. Thousands of people did not evacuate New Orleans. Outer bands of Katrina are reaching the Louisiana coast.
Due to the size and intensity of this storm, all interests in the North Gulf of Mexico should be in their safe locations.

I saw a photo somewhere of ambulances and paramedic vehicles being escorted to the Superdome. Hopefully they will have medical supplies there.
I hope they don't let people in the arean itself. Keep them in the concources under the seating. If the roof does sustain damage, there is a LOT of stuff above your head that you wouldn't want to land on your head. Godspeed to all those in harms way.

Sorry, I didn't hear that at all - just that Max had called him and the governor.
the entire credibility of the national weather service and national hurricane center is on the line with this one. don't get me wrong, I am not saying its being "over hyped", I am just making an observation.
New Orleans airport now closed.
Channel surfed and landed on that Hugh Grant/Sandra Bullock Movie.
She's about to have a bowel explosion while "Takin care of Business" plays.
Oh my God, Bill. Did that used to be an airplane in the second picture? What was it?

The gates of death are about to close.
Please drop us a note as to how they made out if you can. They are blessed with a friend like you who tried.
I've seen "Isaac's Storm." The book is more impressive than the TV show but they are both quite interesting.
from 1-3 O'Clock is worst....
"I think I'll turn off FOX for a few hours"
Do like I do: just don't watch Fox and the rest of the trash emanating from the "dummy box."
Wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago
We fired once more and they began a running
On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico
Now there's a memory (even remember the tune)!
Best wishes to all in harm's way!
Did he really say that tonight, The Big Easy is more like, The Big Hard??????????
NO mayor just told Larry King that the Superdome will "probably" be safe - it's a damn good thing there are not TVs there
How so?
Ask Dennis Kucinch. The Cuyahoga burned for a long time. Someone from Cleveland needs to chime in with some help. I can't remember how it happened...but I think it made Kucinich a household name. He was a real young mayor at the time, I think it happened during his time.
