Extremely dangerous Hurricane Katrina is bearing down on the North Central Gulf of Mexico and New Orleans metro area. Thousands of people did not evacuate New Orleans. Outer bands of Katrina are reaching the Louisiana coast.
Due to the size and intensity of this storm, all interests in the North Gulf of Mexico should be in their safe locations.

The new position, taken with the last from the same source, without any allowance for future turns, puts the course directly in line with downtown New Orleans.
The lady being interviewed on Fox has a great attitude!
Heard on CNN that NINE refineries would be in the eye of the storm, along with the port facilities that bring in 1/6th of our imported oil (the Venezuelan crude comes in at NO), so it won't be just the oil platforms that will be affected. If this doesn't qualify as an "oil emergency" that merits the President opening our 1.5 BILLION barrels of stored oil in the SOR, I don't know what is. This could put the economy into recession.
oh my. some people are going to have to ride it out in their cars.
"There'sssss a bad moon on the rise".
or is it "There's a bathroom on the right".
Great!
Did I say MRI's? Sorry if I did.
That Black lady has the right attitude. Prayers for her.
Nah - she always scowls like that. Her mother TOLD her that her face would freeze like that...
Lesson: always listen to your Mom.
She is outstanding.
"My god, she's dressing like a storm survivor! No, wait - even a survivor would think twice about grabbing THAT in an emergency."
Dhue is a babe; she can do no wrong; even when it comes to wardrobe.
Chris Matthews' Hardball has gone live on a Sunday evening.
But it's not because of the number of people present, rather because of the people you will have to spend your time with. This is not the America with the same people we had 50 years ago. America is changing, and chnaging for the worse due to its inane immigration policies or lack thereof.
At 7 pm CDT, Hurricane Katrina was at 27.2N 89.1W (130 miles south of the mouth of the Mississippi). Winds are at 160 mph (still Cat 5, down 5 mph from 4 pm), pressure is 904 mb (up 2 mb from 4 pm), and was moving north-northwest at 11 mph )change from northwest at 13 mph 3 hours ago).
Isn't she a sweetie?
The lady being interviewed on Fox right now seems like a great American to me. I wish I could give her a hug.
As another Christian, I join you in prayer.
It looks like the new track would put it west of New Orleans...

We're still buying oil from our enemies? I thought we had stopped buying oil from Chavez and his leftist thugs, but apparently we haven't. So, If we're still buying oil from them, they can't be that bad I guess.
People STILL in line at Superdome. This is unacceptable. Lovely woman being interviewed now, however, who said it's not anybody's fault. She said they have had warning and they are grateful to have somewhere to go.
She says everyone is coming together and she has a good job but she chose not to leave. She says the have and have nots are all equal. She's 100% right about that. Sweet attitude given the heat, danger, hunger, exhaustion, etc.
She says we need to share God's word with people who are scared. What a sweetheart.
Yeah, both of those stories have been done to the point of me being disgusted with them.
Lady on FOX now, saying the residents had been warned and had their choice of getting out or not (most of them anyway, had a choice), and thankful the city opened up the Superdome for them. Saying God is in control . . .
