TODAY'S REAL POLL: BUSH JOB APPROVAL - 52% AMONG LIKELY VOTERS
Rasmussen Reports ^ | August 28, 2005 | Scott Rasmussen

Posted on 08/28/2005 8:25:15 AM PDT by new yorker 77

Sunday August 28, 2005--Forty-nine percent (49%) of American adults now approve of the way George W. Bush is performing his role as President. That's the most positive assessment since August 2. It is not clear whether this improvement reflects real change or is merely statistical noise.

Fifty percent (50%) disapprove.

Eighty-three percent (83%) of Republicans Approve of the President's performance along with 23% of Democrats and 36% of those not affiliated with either major party.

...

Cindy Sheehan, the woman who maintained an anti-War protest outside President Bush's ranch, is viewed favorably by 35% of Americans and unfavorably by 38%. Thirty-nine percent (39%) of Americans believe it is time to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq.

During 2004, reports on the President Job Approval were based upon surveys of Likely Voters. Typically, a survey of Likely Voters would report a Job Approval rating 2-3 points higher than a survey of all adults.

On Election Day, the President's Job Approval was at 52%. During all of 2004, the President's Job Approval ranged from a high of 57% in early January to a low of 48% on May 17.

The President's highest rating of 2005 was 54% on February 4.

It will fail.

Elections are real.

TV news ratings are real.

Newspaper Circulation is real.

FAKE POLLS DO NOT TRANSLATE INTO REAL VOTERS!

Ask John Kerry how he was doing in July 2004 to August 2004: http://realclearpolitics.com/Presidential_04/chart3way.html

I'd be curious to see how Hillary's favorables compare to Head Case Cindy's.
------
How can anyone rate Hillary on anything? -- other than her criminality, her Marxism and hard left stand on America?? She has done and accomplished NOTHING...other than to be the "wife" of her reprobate "husband" -- the poster boy of the radical left.

Both of these so-called "women" should be in the trash dump.

It sure is, the useful idiots will only see the headline or believe what's spoon fed to them.

Gallup Numbers 2004 Exit Poll Reweighted Gallup
Overall 43.47% Approval 39.21% Approval
Republicans 82 29% 37% 30.34 23.78
Indepenents 32 34% 26% 8.32 10.88
Democrats 13 35% 37% 4.81 4.55

Reweighting the Gallup poll only brings his approval in that poll to 43.47%

I don't buy into any of the Bush poll numbers. Bush has been subjected to years of "Bush bashing" and lies perpetrated in the mainstream media and their affiliated cadre of wackos and weirdos (Soros and Hollyweird). The majority of people that get their news from the radio, TV, and Liberal newspapers have no clue as to what's happening in the real world. No wonder their opinions are biased and off target--they're spewing the propaganda garbage fed to the uninformed public by Liberal Democrats and anti-American traitors. Interview the troops on the ground in Iraq--let them tell the real story--then let Pelosi, Boxer, Feinstein, Reid, Dean, Kennedy and their ilk try to peddle their anti-Bush garbage.

Your reweighting is a little off.

For arguments sake, let's say your 44% is correct.

Add 3 points for a likely voter sample, its 47%.

Gallup also had Kerry +14 in March 2004 and Bush +16 in September 2004.

A 30 point gap.

Rasmussen had the election within an 8 point range for all of 2004. Bush +5 with Kerry +3.

Gallup gets paid by CNN.

No one can argue that by undersampling Republicans and polling national adults (20% who are not registered to vote, and 55% who will not vote in 2006) is not a factor in their fake number.

The real Gallup poll is 49% job approval.

During WW II Harry Truman was at 25% approval . I think a lot of people disapprove of the way Bush is handling the borders issue . That's what's dragging him down and not so much about a war wiich we MUST win against radical islam .

>> Well, I've always believed that about 40% of the electorate were dangerous morons.

True. Only about 20% make it to the polls thankfully.

The other 20% who vote are simply deluded by the daily msm bombardment.

Destroying these msm fanatics via removal of their feeding tubes (revenue) is the only hope for the freedom of mankind.

And.....lest we accept this without comparison...do you know what clinton's approval ratings were for this same time period in his oval office as a playroom presidency?

Also, Let's Go to the Audiotape - Who nailed the election results? Automated pollsters. By David Kenner and William Saletan Posted Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at 2:46 PM PT Rasmussen and Gallup overlapped in four battleground states: the big three (Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania) plus Minnesota. In all four, Rasmussen beat Gallup. Rasmussen's average error in these states was 3.3 points compared to Gallup's 6.2. http://politics.slate.msn.com/id/2110860/

The point of polling job approval numbers, especially in a non-election year, is to see how the politician is viewed by all people in the country. He is still their president whether they vote or not. Taking a JA poll of likely voters is only relevent if that's the only thing your interested in, and if that's the case, then so be it. The reason that Rasmussen reverted back to "national adults" in his post-elections polls is because that is how it is traditionally done.

BTW, I don't think there were any errors in the math.
