Just talked to Basil on site in Crawford, Texas. Currently there are about 100 folks there helping to set up. They have not received word about the caravan arrival in Waco yet. JimRob is riding with the caravan. She thinks it might get to Crawford around 1:00 p.m.
Basil says the stage is set up, the sound system is excellent and they have hung the most beautiful banners overnighted by W04Man on the stage. A big thanks for the banners, they are much appreciated!
Someone arrived early and hung yellow ribbons everywhere.
They have an American flag that is about 50 feet by 40 feet. Children of military personnel serving in the Middle East have written notes to their parents on the stripes of this flag. A very touching thing to behold.
The HOT Chapter booth is being unloaded right now. The will sell buttons made by Angelwood to help off set costs.
Someone rented the Community Center for our use so there is access to AC. However, they also have 10 tents set up. And there is a Moonwalk for the kiddos.
To top everything else there is BBQ on the grill! Basil is the official taster and says it is great!
That is all the news I have at the moment. It is hard to get a cell phone connection to Crawford but when I hear more I will try to update everyone.
Yes I saw the mega cool video..
editing/production takes time I hope to see some nice video in the future
Serpentdove did a great job!
Put a Burka on her and he won't mind.
Great job folks! Thanks so much for the pics
GREAT shots, but I have a question... We were seated close to the back so I couldn't figure out what happened. Since you posted a couple of close ups, I hope you can answer about what actually happened.
I saw a sign - large print - something like "Bush is a terrorist" and people began boooing. I then saw the Protest Warrior along the bottom and I began yelling, "NO! THAT'S PROTEST WARRIOR!" along with a lot of others.
I saw there was a rumble of sorts, and the sign vanished. Is that the guy that everyone up front was after? Was his sign taken away and thrown to the ground or was it some other person who was actually a leftist?
Thanks for any insight you can give me!
I didn't' see him, but I did hear him. He was one of the speakers.
I think that next time there is a hugh, series FREEPER event, we need to have all of the freepers wear nametags or have cards or something, so that other freepers can recognize them....instead of asking strangers if they are freepers...
Many of us did wear a name tag. Some, like Eaker and Humblegunner had preprinted ones. Most of use used the sticker and markers provided at the "sign in" table. I made two. One for my pocket, one for my hat. Several people I knew only on line came up and said hello. They were wearing tags as well.
They explained from the stage, both before and after the incident. Problem was, many folks could not hear it.
From the MN Protest Warriors website.
We linked up with PW co-founder Kfir Alfia at the rally and went in to look for more PW's to link up with. About 30 minutes into our effort to link with others we had a slight misunderstanding with some people in the group, who didn't know who PW was, we promptly left the scene and got outside the rally, where we were inundated by The Press, who I don't' really know, all I do know is the AP was definitely there as my name is plastered all over the web by them, surprisingly positive too.
Same as the park we were in. Tonkawa Park. As we left the rally it looked more like local kids in the swim'n hole, not the great unwashed. They would probably have been skinny dipping, don't you think?

LOL
Instant fame - can fortune be far behind?
I hope he has a good sense of humor. The Protest Warriors sure know how to make hilarious signs and sneakily infiltrate the lib's events, heheh. I love the reports and pics of their efforts. Sorry they got 'hit with friendly fire'. Do you think we should tell them about our secret password? LOL
;^D
C00000L Picture! :)
That is sooooo cute! What a great kid!
just wondering, what was questionable about them? I'm part of Protest Warrior myself, though I have only met one of those guys in person for a whole 15 minutes. I don't agree with everything everyone in that group says, but I like the basic foundation they built up from.
So what did I miss that makes you say that?
Here's what I finally got put together about the Crawford Rally on Friday.

They brought tears to this 'ol Grizzlie's heart . . . and I'm the world's worst cynic.
Thanks to you and the others who have decided to carry the fight to our enemies . . . both domestic and foreign . . . we're still the GREATEST country the world has ever known.
I'm disabled in body so I can't join you in this momentous fight . . . but please know, in spirit, I'm with you and the rest of the Patriots every step of the way. I'm proud to even be remotely associated with WONDERFUL folks like you. Y'all make what could be torturous and unbearable days somehow manageable.
God how I love my fellow FReepers!!
