LIVE Report From Crawford (3,000 folks now and STILL COMING!)
Basil in Crawford | 8-27-05 | TxBubba

Posted on 08/27/2005 10:02:40 AM PDT by TXBubba

Just talked to Basil on site in Crawford, Texas. Currently there are about 100 folks there helping to set up. They have not received word about the caravan arrival in Waco yet. JimRob is riding with the caravan. She thinks it might get to Crawford around 1:00 p.m.

Basil says the stage is set up, the sound system is excellent and they have hung the most beautiful banners overnighted by W04Man on the stage. A big thanks for the banners, they are much appreciated!

Someone arrived early and hung yellow ribbons everywhere.

They have an American flag that is about 50 feet by 40 feet. Children of military personnel serving in the Middle East have written notes to their parents on the stripes of this flag. A very touching thing to behold.

The HOT Chapter booth is being unloaded right now. The will sell buttons made by Angelwood to help off set costs.

Someone rented the Community Center for our use so there is access to AC. However, they also have 10 tents set up. And there is a Moonwalk for the kiddos.

To top everything else there is BBQ on the grill! Basil is the official taster and says it is great!

That is all the news I have at the moment. It is hard to get a cell phone connection to Crawford but when I hear more I will try to update everyone.

Jim Robinson could be the next Rupert Murdoch in the making.

And we can all help make it so. We need our own network, satellites and all. I'm steamed over the total news blackout of yesterday's huge patriotic, troop support rally.

Now that I'm rested and have a nice fresh cup of coffee, I decided to sit down and read thru the 3,000+ posts on this thread ~

This image cracked me up!!! ~

I am pretty sure this is the same pinkco that someone posted a picture of from Camp Reality ~ the one the police officer was telling to get her butt back across the street.

And those people will know that the MSM is not reporting responsibly.

In Los Angeles, nbc4 reported that "hundreds" of "pro-war demonstrators" were in Crawford... ABC world news reported "over a thousand." The local Fox outlet nearly buried the story and you could have missed it if you blinked. All "reportage" that I saw showed haphazard clips of the patriotic rallyers without any narrative of who they were and why they were there, but emphasized "dueling demonstrations!" They all, including Fox, showed Cindy front and center -- plenty of air time, etc. So thoroughly disgusting.

There is no way that ANY MSM is going to show anything that might stir or affirm feelings of patriotism. Media is thoroughly anti-American.

I can only imagine! We had all hoped, but who would of guessed that many could actually make it! It's just wonderful!

Exactly right, claim death threats, claim discrimination, claim voter fraud (even where none is present) claim hate and bigotry, you name it!

What was really cool was that along the way cars would be trying to get on the freeway. This was their town and people needed to get where they were going so we let them in. Many were either with the caravan or decided to join because they stayed in line and turned their flashers and lights on too and joined us.

There was a problem though. My sister was in a car behind me but dropped way back. She told me later that a car with negative GB stuff on pulled in front of her and deliberately tried to separate them.

I was in Crawford about an hour ago and was told by a store owner that the traffic yesterday was backed up to McGregor, about six miles to the south. He said there were five thousand people in town. There might have been three hundred this afternoon. On the west side of the tracks that is. I didn't want to spend any time east of the tracks near the 'peace' house...

Please don't call it "Camp Casey." The real Camp Casey is in Tongdechon, South Korea, and home to the male and female soldiers of Second Infantry Division troops on freedom's frontier, just a few miles south of the Korean DMZ.

Call the ditch in Crawford "Camp Cindy."

And a cloud or two for shade and a breeze.

Your prayers were answered:') It was so hot. My Mom stayed under the tent. My sister and I would go back to cool off. At one time it was so bad and then we got this really cool breeze going thru the tent for several minutes.
