Just talked to Basil on site in Crawford, Texas. Currently there are about 100 folks there helping to set up. They have not received word about the caravan arrival in Waco yet. JimRob is riding with the caravan. She thinks it might get to Crawford around 1:00 p.m.
Basil says the stage is set up, the sound system is excellent and they have hung the most beautiful banners overnighted by W04Man on the stage. A big thanks for the banners, they are much appreciated!
Someone arrived early and hung yellow ribbons everywhere.
They have an American flag that is about 50 feet by 40 feet. Children of military personnel serving in the Middle East have written notes to their parents on the stripes of this flag. A very touching thing to behold.
The HOT Chapter booth is being unloaded right now. The will sell buttons made by Angelwood to help off set costs.
Someone rented the Community Center for our use so there is access to AC. However, they also have 10 tents set up. And there is a Moonwalk for the kiddos.
To top everything else there is BBQ on the grill! Basil is the official taster and says it is great!
That is all the news I have at the moment. It is hard to get a cell phone connection to Crawford but when I hear more I will try to update everyone.
BEST pic on the whole thread...regards..
No, but he sounds like a real nutjob!!!
I must say, I was a little nervous about that one. I was praying she wasn't going to leave her fingers on the table.
Those young ladies helping us feed folks saved the day. We were all pretty whiped out by mid day.
We had a great day!
One should read to the end of the thread I have now discovered the photo was to show the crosses had not been removed. This proves one should wait until the end of the thread to see what is going on.
Apologies to all
Please add my apology to this I think we are all a bit sensive and twitchy and seeing trolls where there are none rather than reading further. Sincere apologies.
Look where Gail was. Check post 2,621. No wonder we missed her Friday night
g'morning..short nap, eh.....? Just wondering..is this getting any coverage in the Brit media?..both sides..how is Cindy portrayed on the Beeb?
I have also
It was an epic event and we were honored to attend.
I have more pix to post and will do so when I get home,
I'm still sharing a laptop with Eaker and Flyer and TheMom
and it's cramping my (debatable) style.
Great Report..
I love that picture..
the one good thing is this.showing our side and waving the flag has taken sheehans face off the front page of the news.they now can't show her side without pointing out there are thousands protesting against her.
Great point! You would think that a meaningful news organization would be all over the money trail behind this so-called "Peace Mom"!
It has also been reported on Brit TV that counter demonstrators were going to Crawford on Saturday but must admit did not watch much British news yesterday as had soccer on most of the day and then switched to FNC later on.
I HOPE that is the case. But I saw a promo clip on CNN this morning, and the promo had our side WORDs in it, but only Cindy's picture!!! still they can create the wrong impression on purose, and get away with it. Sorry for my negativity still this morning. I'm hoping we will get some repentance from Fox today and tomorrow.
It's morning now, and I dare say this: I thought the whole thing with the sign, our side tearing into the "protest warrior" was a hoot. Now wait! Not that I'm laughing or was at ANYONE. It's just, well, I put myself into how it must have looked to Camp Casey-ites, etc.
Our protestors were obviously in the mind for some RED MEAT to dig their chaws into! If I had been a liberal.. NOPE. After that situation, I definitely would have killed any thoughts I had of infiltrating the Pro-Troops Side.
Bless those two Protest Warriors -- thanks to their signs -- and our side's reactions -- probably staved off some potential conflict between the two encampments.
Yep! Oops!
It's not debatable... but only for today.
