Just talked to Basil on site in Crawford, Texas. Currently there are about 100 folks there helping to set up. They have not received word about the caravan arrival in Waco yet. JimRob is riding with the caravan. She thinks it might get to Crawford around 1:00 p.m.
Basil says the stage is set up, the sound system is excellent and they have hung the most beautiful banners overnighted by W04Man on the stage. A big thanks for the banners, they are much appreciated!
Someone arrived early and hung yellow ribbons everywhere.
They have an American flag that is about 50 feet by 40 feet. Children of military personnel serving in the Middle East have written notes to their parents on the stripes of this flag. A very touching thing to behold.
The HOT Chapter booth is being unloaded right now. The will sell buttons made by Angelwood to help off set costs.
Someone rented the Community Center for our use so there is access to AC. However, they also have 10 tents set up. And there is a Moonwalk for the kiddos.
To top everything else there is BBQ on the grill! Basil is the official taster and says it is great!
That is all the news I have at the moment. It is hard to get a cell phone connection to Crawford but when I hear more I will try to update everyone.
see post #2637.
suzyque is not a troll. (as you can also see from posting history.)
The guy holding the big sign in the back...that's me (and I am absolutely serious)!!...I did that operation w/Protest Warrior last July (of '04)...the tiny women in the front is about 4-feet 10-inches but tough as nails- she was at several counter-protests against the liberal scum with us in NYC last year September...
WTG FReepers!!! America thanks you!!! Great pics and info, thanks to all the posters.
FReepers just plain look good! It really is an eye opener to look at the difference between the rabid wacky left and those of us on the right, the left looks like the night of the living dead and the right looks like a breath of fresh air, good looking and SANE! Great pic of those kids with the posters of purple fingers.
Thanks for posting these for me Jeff Head!
We decided at the last minute to go to the rally today. We thought my husband was going to have to work, but he re-arranged his schedule so he could go. There was a really long line of cars coming in from Waco and I would guess the estimate of 3,000 in the crowd was about right.
The first two pics are of the area under the tent, which was most of the shade. About half the crowd was there. The rest were near the stage, or in line for the bbq (provided by the Austin Fire Department and so delicious!)
The next two pictures - We loved all the signs!
In this last picture, there was a scuffle when some kids marched through the crowd with a sign that said "Bush is a Dictator" or something like that. A man walked up and pushed the sign to the ground and several people went over and stood on it so the kid couldn't pick it back up. A crowd gathered, but the kids ended up just walking off.
That's it! Thank you to KellyRae and her husband and all who attended in support of our troops and on behalf of all of us who could not be there.
MAJOR dittos to that!
Thank you for the update. Sounds like someone finally got through the vmail and email at Fox.
I got disgusted w Fox after earlier coverage today (and left 3 vmail to let them know it) - have Trading Spaces on (LOL) whilst I'm reading FR. Maybe I'll switch back to Fox and top/bottom of hour.
Every other shop sported a sign of the like, "Support our troops - Withdraw from Iraq!"
I thought my head was going to explode before I got out of there.
Ithica is not the only city of evil.
No wonder Gael was a great, big no-show at Walter Reed last night.
I guess she thought the PR heat that their blood dance at WRAMC was getting in DC was too much, and that she'd be in friendlier territory with the "greiving mom" in Crawford.
Looks like she figured wrong. She believed her own spin, that the majority of Americans hate GW Bush, our troops, the war on terror and our country.
Thank you, Mr. Crawford police officer, for having a word with Mizzzz Murphy.
If there are any Crawford Freepers reading this, can you buy this officer a cigar and send me a bill?
Unbelievable...very sad. But we showed today what can happen when people get energized...and that same party will be going to DC to show the support there.
can you post the url to the video again?
Hi Valerie
Great that you were there today! I look forward to your pictures.
Exactly...I was sure itching to be there from here in IDaho.
Great pictures! :)
YOU'RE the guys who sparked a lot of us. To think it was only just a year ago when that pic went out - lotta things happended since then....
thanks for being a big strong supporter of the Prez.
uh oh
God bless and preserve our troops and God speed the success of their historic mission.
