Just talked to Basil on site in Crawford, Texas. Currently there are about 100 folks there helping to set up. They have not received word about the caravan arrival in Waco yet. JimRob is riding with the caravan. She thinks it might get to Crawford around 1:00 p.m.
Basil says the stage is set up, the sound system is excellent and they have hung the most beautiful banners overnighted by W04Man on the stage. A big thanks for the banners, they are much appreciated!
Someone arrived early and hung yellow ribbons everywhere.
They have an American flag that is about 50 feet by 40 feet. Children of military personnel serving in the Middle East have written notes to their parents on the stripes of this flag. A very touching thing to behold.
The HOT Chapter booth is being unloaded right now. The will sell buttons made by Angelwood to help off set costs.
Someone rented the Community Center for our use so there is access to AC. However, they also have 10 tents set up. And there is a Moonwalk for the kiddos.
To top everything else there is BBQ on the grill! Basil is the official taster and says it is great!
That is all the news I have at the moment. It is hard to get a cell phone connection to Crawford but when I hear more I will try to update everyone.
"That appeared to be a ProtestWarrior sign being torn apart. It looks like someone made a mistake out of ignorance of ProtestWarrior's subtle use of irony in their signs."
Eastforker, did you read the sign carefully before tearing it up? :-}
Only problem is that RAT is a ProtestWarrior.
heard you were there...you restrained yourself?
I just wanted to thank everyone that participated in this event. Thank you for representing us!
Okay, I can't sleep. You guys have to go to ProtestWarrior.com and click on the "New signs" in the right column. They are a hoot!
is the chat on??
I just want to make sure everything was cool....I see the MSM is reporting with glee the following:
"There also were some heated moments at the pro-Bush rally when Bush supporters mistakenly identified two people as war protesters. The two walked in with a sign that read "Say No to War _ Unless a Democrat is President."
Not much variety there; it mostly looks like this:
Just sent them an email apologizing for the misunderstanding at the rally!
STILL my favorite pic!
As far as I could tell, the only place to eat in Crawford is the Coffee place that the President sometimes frequents. The crowd of 3000 is about 4 times the total population of the town. And of course that 3,000 was only the MoveAmericaForward and FR crowd. There were other folks, on both sides, out on Prairie Chapel road plus Sindy and entourage out at "Camp Casey II". A few folks might get into the restaurant, but not many. The next town is about 15 miles south. It's larger (they have a Burgher King for example) but still not able to accommodate such a crowd. The nearest town of any size is Waco, about 20-25 miles away. Quite a few FReepers either stayed there last night, or were planning on staying tonight. I wanted to stop in Crawford, but the place was pretty near gridlock, and I was on the edge of heat exhaustion, in spite of drinking about 6 bottles of water in the 3 hours I was there, as well as rubbing my neck and head with the ice and ice water used to cool the water bottles. And I was under the tent the majority of the time.
The band Journey was more my speed. LOL
ditto.
*sighing and looking perplexed*
I'm 55. Will it take much longer? ;)
Please take a minute to come over to this thread & vote...then ping your friends:
POLL on Crawford Demonstrations....Which side do you support?

Great pics. Thanks for the ping.
The Pro-troops supporters, today in Crawford -- were there for the TROOPS and the MISSION; not the MSM.
That's a very important thing to remember. And if you think for one moment, various commanders are NOT going to let their troops hear about this support from the US -- lol -- well, they are -- our troops are getting the message, loud and clear, about those who showed up in Crawford to support the troops!!
While everyone is yet in "protest" adrenalin rush.. never forget, the left feeds on the anger and dismay of ... conservatives. It's what they live for.
And as Cindy's comments become even more inflammatory (as purposefully intended), as the liberal "church" arises to engage, conservatives should remember -- Conservatives and Patriots are running the agenda -- NOT THE LIBERALS.
I promise you -- what y'all did in Crawford today, is not going to go away -- it's going to resonate in big ways that may not appear immediately observable.
Most the soldiers I know start laughing when I bring up Cindy Sheehan and her organizers. You know what they say?
"Well, lol, we'll see about that." After what these guys and gals have seen, most all of them view Sheehabis as "fluffballs" - beings of no substance, standing for nothing, meaning nothing, giving nothing, contributing nothing.
They see the Sheehabies as "blowing in the wind". And these guys have seen every kinda con and scam in places like Iraq and Afghanistan.
They've met her "type". The kind of person who sidles up to a US troops claiming to have vital information "please come follow me into that building..."
Love your tagline. ;*)
Awesome video! Thanks! It loaded quite quickly (cable modem).
Yep, this thread and every other thread on Crawford should get the photos. We have been suffering all day...
Between Fox really letting us down in coverage, misreports of how many on our side, if it was covered at all. Emails and calls have been flying to News organizations.
By all means, post them. We need to send the troops something besides our thread of frustration.
