Just talked to Basil on site in Crawford, Texas. Currently there are about 100 folks there helping to set up. They have not received word about the caravan arrival in Waco yet. JimRob is riding with the caravan. She thinks it might get to Crawford around 1:00 p.m.
Basil says the stage is set up, the sound system is excellent and they have hung the most beautiful banners overnighted by W04Man on the stage. A big thanks for the banners, they are much appreciated!
Someone arrived early and hung yellow ribbons everywhere.
They have an American flag that is about 50 feet by 40 feet. Children of military personnel serving in the Middle East have written notes to their parents on the stripes of this flag. A very touching thing to behold.
The HOT Chapter booth is being unloaded right now. The will sell buttons made by Angelwood to help off set costs.
Someone rented the Community Center for our use so there is access to AC. However, they also have 10 tents set up. And there is a Moonwalk for the kiddos.
To top everything else there is BBQ on the grill! Basil is the official taster and says it is great!
That is all the news I have at the moment. It is hard to get a cell phone connection to Crawford but when I hear more I will try to update everyone.
PUT ON FNC NOW!!
Thanks. The FReeper malakhi (used to be angelo) is the brilliant one who thought of the name "Nupress." I have to say, it has given me so much satisfaction to see the "new press" (i.e., the New Media) take the power away from the Lamestream Media.
If Hillary ever gets elected, I think I'll start a thread to see what new name we can come up with. I'm sure FReepers could be very creative. ;-)
BTW, I've just never been able to comprehend how people can lurk for a long stretch of time and not say something. Sometimes I'm even envious. lol! My big, fat mouth spouts off a lot more than it should sometimes.
Geroldo interviewing "both sides"
Great job! Worked just fine.
Hi HushTX, I didn't get my reply in so fast THIS time. I tell ya, step away from the computer for awhile and I'm hundreds of posts behind. LOL
You may be one of our younger people here but we're thankful to have you here. I'm sure you know a heck-of-alot more than some folks your age, AND some older folks MY age. I get confused sometimes too. Nice to know it's not an "age" thing. teehee
Yes, today was "nuts", in a good way. While your brother is in Iraq, you are serving here at home by keeping the faith, supporting his mission, and being a conscientious (ok, YOU do the spelling on that word...har har) American.
Our son served in Iraq during the first year and a half of the war. You tell your brother that we're all supporting him and tell your family that we honor their sacrifice as well! :) chena
Yeah, I can't believe it's been that long ago. I left in 64. Never looked back. Not good memories of my ten years there.
Awesome! This soldier got a deserved cheer from across the ocean! You can bet he'll relate this to his company and it'll spread. I'll bet this is a huge morale boost for our men and women over there.
About the PW, shame what happened there. the guy apparently apologized and shook his hand, but maybe we could (individually) send them some thank you notes. Send them a small contribution to make up for the signs. Purely voluntarily, but would be a nice gesture.

Good quality as both a downloaded file and streaming through an IE6/Avant browser setup.
Much better coverage. The father was great.
More coverage on FOX, and Geraldo is actually talking to a lady from MoveAmericaForward.com! AMAZING! She's saying we need to support the troops no matter what our political affiliation is.
Geraldo is now talking to a man whose son was killed, in the same unit, the same day as Casey Sheehan. So sad. But at least they're showing the pro-American side a tad bit!
4:20 p.m.
Joan Baez sang about four times this afternoon, a couple of the songs being Joe Hill, The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down.
Cindy Sheehan spoke at the rally and at a press conference just after that.
Sheehan said that before she came down here, someone told her, "You should go down in a pasture near Bush's ranch and thousands of people would come and you ought to call it Turdstock, so let's call it Turdstock."
She said that one question in her mind when she first arrived in Crawford was, "When will America care?" Now, she says, she knows that America cares.
Sheehan talked about her plans to take her message to the communities, that it is a grassroots movement that's growing and growing. She said, "I couldn't stop it now if I wanted to. It's got a life of its own. We'll take it to the cities, then the House and the Senate." She reiterated that the insurgency is fueled by our presence. She says she thinks it will stop if we leave.
The serving of barbecue has not yet started. The arrival of persons to have crosses removed has not happened.
There are still thousands here. Few, if any, are leaving. People keep arriving.

1:15 p.m.
Joan Baez has returned and just led everyone in singing Amazing Grace at Camp Casey II. When she finished she said, "Christian right, eat your heart out."
She is slated to sing interspersed throughout the rally this afternoon. The barbecue is still to follow, as is the continued rally. Various artists from Austin are slated to perform later.
Another busload of people has come in. Several helicopters are flying about.
There is going to be a wedding tomorrow at 4 p.m. at Camp Casey II. The bride says she will find and wear the cleanest T-shirt she's got and the money that would be have been spent on the wedding will go to the Peace House and Cindy Sheehan's group.
Was that it? If that was the coverage of the rally, I am really pissed! What is going on?
No doubt a missed opportunity not to have this guy speak on stage and explain...or at least have someone explain for him. That would have educated a lot of the general population right then and there. But sounds like he was pretty shaken up by the experience and the thought didn't occur to anyone at the time.
You've earned your nap and our gratitude for a job well done! Thank you so much, and thank you to ALL of our FRiends and other supporters that let our voices be heard. God love ya, chena
Great video......thanks for posting something we'd never see on the MSM.
Deborah Johns' message is right on!
And our JimRob looks sooooooooooo handsome!
Is Gary Knapp's show broadcast in Waco.
Why does even the conservative world have to cater to least common denominator (i.e., stupid people)? The signs look perfectly appropriate alongside some others in these pics, like the 'chicken footprint' one that has a peace symbol much larger than the text.
From Cindy's camp? I hit the mute button as soon as he opened his mouth.
Woohoo, great video SerpentDove! Thanks!
Didn't last long though!
