ALBUQUERQUE -- A man attacking his ex-wife with a knife inside a southeast Albuquerque Wal Mart was shot and killed by a 72-year-old man Thursday evening. It all happened around 5:30 p.m. at the store on San Mateo near Zuni. There was mayhem and confusion inside a southeast Albuquerque Wal Mart as employees and shoppers were sent fleeing by the sound of gunfire. The victim in this case is 46-year old Joyce Cordova. She is in critical but stable condition at this time at UNM Hospital. Albuquerque Police say Cordova had a long history of domestic violence with ex-husband Felix Vigil. A co-worker says Cordova was working in the deli was attacked by her ex-husband. Vigil was shot to death by 72-year old Due Moore. Police won't say how many shots were fired, but some witnesses tell News 13 they heard at least three shots. Police say Moore had a concealed carry license and is a well-known volunteer with APD's cold case unit. Its probably a very good thing he (Moore) was there, says APD Sgt. Trish Hoffman. Ms. Cordova may not be here today if it had not been for him. Police say there was a valid restraining order in place against the victim's ex-husband. Police say Moore has been very cooperative and has not been charged with any crime.
Great minds think alike!
Seen from the feminazi point-of-view, the spousal abuse was the worst crime here, not the gun use. I think that is why the stabbing victim was call such. If, instead of the ex-wife, it was just another guy, then the gun use would have been more in play in the language of the article.
Long guns, yes. Was a story when Rosie O'Donnell was their spokeshole.
They also have wide variety of very very well priced ammo.
Nice sentiment, impractical in a crowded store. Center of mass a better choice.
Score one for responsible gun-toting people.
Probably...most do, especially those located west of the Mighty Mississip.
Well, that certainly was a big help. I'm certainly glad it was valid, otherwise it wouldn't have protected her at all. </sarcasm>
Yep. It's a whole 'nother world up here, ain't it? ;)
Allright. Since, we're being picky:
Shot one: torso, on-center immediately below the sternum.
Target: solar plexus
Shot two: torso, mid-chest high and slightly to shooter's right of center.
Target: heart
Shot three: head, on-center 1" above the brow line.
Target: brain
Betcha she's glad to be rid of him for good. Those restraining orders do a lot of good, don't they? All they'd do is slap his hands and give him another chance. She'd be dead before long and before he got locked up for good. Then he'd get out on parole to do it again. Good riddance.
he is 72 and it was a moving target and not a full time officer. he did pretty good, what about those pros I think in denver or LA that fired 120 rounds at a guy in a truck and only hit him twice.
ANOTHER job I didn't know existed.
Those three little words that save us the expense of a trial.. Shot and Killed.
"I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to leave the store."
If you were to ask my sister, she'd remind you that one to the nuts FIRST is standard procedure for men attacking women. :)
Take some lessons. You need to learn about guns.
WOW, you all have alot more restraint than I do.
Just three, come on... my CPL was $155. I want my moneys worth, especialy since the ban was lifted. Empty the clip, reload..
It's not like ammo is expensive, not like gas anyways.
