Just happened to notice in today's NY POST that tonight, at 7PM and again at 11PM EST, the National Geographic channel will twice reair all 4 hours of its much praised 9/11 documentary. If you missed it, and/or want to tape it..here's your chance..
So here's your chance to set the VCR, DVDR, or TIVO..
Please bump this along throughout the day so that others will see it..Thanks..
Bump!
ouch.
I haven't seen it yet. Thanks
Remove all loose objects from the room, lest something end up getting thrown through the TV. You will be mad at Bill Clinton for doing NOTHING about the terrorists for eight years after the 1st WTC attack.
My cable co doesn't offer NG as part of their extended basic.
I heard the program was informative without overt agenda leanings.
It was...FYI..I think they'll be selling the DVD shortly..
Saw it already. This proves that BJ Clinton did nothing, even with evidence in hand. It should be of help defeating hillary if she tries to run in '08.
I'll have my "bad call brick" handy cuz the Packers play at 7:00 pm. :)
Excellent program!
I highly recommend it!

Actually, I was mad at pretty much the whole establishment after seeing how NOBODY IN GOVERNMENT understood the threat that was brewing.
Bill Clinton definitely did not help AT ALL, but more of the movement was caused by actions that we could not foresee, especially when we tried to help the mujahideen in Afghanistan. How were we to know that they would become emboldened into thinking that they could take down all superpowers after taking down the Soviet Union.
BTTT
Excellent program. You should ask a friend to tape it for you. It is "must watch" television.
I watched it. I wish that instead of having the "limited commercial breaks" (those God awful Ameriquest ads featuring the Stones) it scrolled through photgraphs, along with mini-bios, of the hijackers. "Mohammed Atta, Islamic terrorist." That kind of thing.
Bump backatchya!
"but more of the movement was caused by actions that we could not foresee, especially when we tried to help the mujahideen in Afghanistan."
Best source of info is the guy who developed the policy under the Reagan administration..Charles Wilson..his book "Charlie Wilson's War..is a marvelous read..you can find a used copy on Amazin for a few $$..the Russian invasion of Afghanistan, which really hurt the Red Army, helped in the implosion of the USSR.It's possible that had some of our promised to the Mujehadin been kept..and many were ignored during the Clinton administration.. ( Bush I had his hands full with the first Gulf War) we might have been able to temper the growth of AlQueda, but I think not..OUR actions were not the root cause..
The program really didn't blame any Administration throughout. It was pretty careful to just give a timeline as to what events happened when. And I don't even think that you can lay all blame anywhere. Everyone had a share from Carter to W. Everyone seemed to have this false sense of invincibility.
I would tend to agree that much blame should fall on Carter, but it could also fall all the way back on the Soviets after WWII, who decided to enact the Brezhnev Doctrine. In response to the Brezhnev Doctrine, we responded by funding anyone who was anti-communist. The Afghanistan involvement posed a true problem. After just being overthrown in Iran by the Islamic Revolution with many Americans being held hostage, should we allow the Soviets to control a strategic outpost to stem the spread of this Revolution or should we battle the Soviets to stem the spread of Communism. Seems to be a no-win situation.
The real problem is the new-found confidence that Osama Bin Laden gained during that war. The other interesting fact brought out in the report was how ticked off Osama got when Saudi Arabia chose our forces to defend them against Saddam in Gulf War I instead of the Mujahideen.
Defeating the US became an obsession for Osama.
This is the real story behind 911 and I'm telling you We can lay the blame right slick willys feet...With this and now Able Danger, I think it's pretty much a done deal...

Stones? I thought those dancing/singing skeletons were just a pre-halloween promotion.
