Today show: Just When You Thought it was Safe to go back in the Crawford [up pops Sheehan]
Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the MSM water, up pops Cindy Sheehan.
The Today shows pretext for bringing back Cindy was her return to Crawford.
It seems that Sheehans media consultants have been hard at work, grooming a more media-savvy, less over-the-top image for Sheehan. She managed to avoidcharging W, as she has in the past, with being the worlds biggest terrorist, or engaging in thinly-veiled anti-Semitism as when she previously spoke of neo-con Paul Wolfowitz making her skin crawl.
Yet one sensed that not far beneath the buttoned-down exterior, the demons lurked.
Sheehan was invited to respond to President Bushs statement to the effect she doesnt speak for many military families, and that immediate withdrawal from Iraq and the Middle East would weaken the US:
Sheehan: The president doesnt ever really talk to somebody who disagrees with him so of course he hears his side of the story, and I think his policy of invading a country that was no threat to the United States of America has weakened the country.
Right, the President, who is constantly inundated by waves of MSM criticism, only hears from supporters. And of course Saddam Hussein, who offered rewards to suicide bombers, had developed and used WMDs, had invaded two neighbors, attempted to assassinate a US president and was harboring Ansar Al Islam, an Al-Qaida connected group, posed no threat.
Sheehan also offered up this classic bit of anti-war double-speak. She and her ilk think the best way to honor the troops is to bring them home.
Sure, the best way to honor soldiers is to tell them that the cause for which theyve risked their lives is not merely worthless, but pernicious.
Finkelstein has degrees from Cornell University and Harvard Law School. He lives in Ithaca, NY where he hosts "Right Angle," a local political talk show. Finkelstein specializes in exposing liberal bias at NBC's Today Show.
Today show/Newsbusters ping.
Excellent....................
Btw, about 6% of high school graduates know what "pernicious" means.
Is it that high?
I thought it was interesting, Shaheen was just given, maybe, a 30 second segment, with the fill-in newsreader, not Lauer, and it was buried in the second hour.
;-)
Right. She could have just come right out and said I hate Jews and it's all a Jewish/Israeli cabal. This woman is despicable in so many ways that I have actually lost count.
The backlash against Baghdad Cindy started a while ago, and I believe it's huge..however, the MSM won't bother reporting it so it looks like there's only one side of the story..it's going to be interesting to see how the MSM reports the YDSFMC caravan when they pull in..anyone want to make any bets that if they're reported at all, it will be in a negative light?
Freudian slip of the day. The MSM is doing more damage to the war effort than any of Saddam's WMD's could ever do.
LOL! I guess I'll have to go back to my NewsBusters article and correct that - regretfully!
most colige grajuites hav wurkt hard four they're digrees..they shud no what it meanz...hehehe (I had to really stop and THINK on how to misspell all that)...
LOL! Did you ever ride the NYC subway 30 or so years ago? There was a ubiquitous advertisement for some kind of stenography school which read:
F u cn rd ths, u cn gt a gd jb and ern bg pay!
Nah..been to NYC one time for a month (was actually 3 days, but seemed like a month)..won't go back..I prefer the down home friendliness of North Georgia..
Sounds nice. But how is the subway system? ;-)
It's doing quite well thanks..there's one on the corner and another one about 2 miles away...I like the BMT myself..:)
"It's Five O'clock Somewhere".
;-)
I read recently where 67% of people between the ages of 18-24 could not correctly identify the 2 countries the US fought in WWII.
What are the chances they could tll you who was kicked off the Survivor island?
Actually it was 3, but Italy didn't count..they were against us, before they were for us...:)
Uh, France and Israel? Just guessing here.
