They must have had Frank Luntz come out and say that the "test groups" he rounded up said that "vigil" sounds OH, so much better than "protest", because "protest" has a negative connotation..

and any group that has PEACE in every sub-group's name, CANNOT come across as "negative"...

BUT, "vigil", ahhhhhhh...that is calm, and soothing and "peaceful"...the CORRECT connotation...

Bang on, buddy. But it's still shameless manipulation and mischaracterization. But I shouldn't be surpised. Of course, the ideal thing would be for all the proud families who support the war, their loved ones (and honor their dead) should hold real vigils, praying for swift victory. But they're too dignified and respectful of what's right and decent to do that.
