I post messages to a conservative discussion website, attend church regularly, and like leftover meatloaf sandwiches. I wonder which disorders I have?

They are teaching our children to be professional victims. They can blame everything they do on their particular 'disorder'.

Model Hatch Amendment Letter

The Hatch Amendment requires not merely the lack of an "opt out", but positive parental consent before anything that can be considered psychological treatment, conditioning, or testing can be performed. It also applies to stuff like DARE and "diversity training".

GENERAL

Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA)

The Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232h; 34 CFR Part 98) applies to programs that receive funding from the U.S. Department of Education (ED). PPRA is intended to protect the rights of parents and students in two ways:

It seeks to ensure that schools and contractors make instructional materials available for inspection by parents if those materials will be used in connection with an ED-funded survey, analysis, or evaluation in which their children participate; and

It seeks to ensure that schools and contractors obtain written parental consent before minor students are required to participate in any ED-funded survey, analysis, or evaluation that reveals information concerning:

- Political affiliations;
- Mental and psychological problems potentially embarrassing to the student and his/her family;
- Sex behavior and attitudes;
- Illegal, anti-social, self-incriminating and demeaning behavior;
- Critical appraisals of other individuals with whom respondents have close family relationships;
- Legally recognized privileged or analogous relationships, such as those of lawyers, physicians, and ministers; or
- Income (other than that required by law to determine eligibility for participation in a program or for receiving financial assistance under such program).
- Parents or students who believe their rights under PPRA may have been violated may file a complaint with ED by writing the Family Policy Compliance Office. Complaints must contain specific allegations of fact giving reasonable cause to believe that a violation of PPRA occurred.

For additional information or technical assistance, you may call (202) 260-3887 (voice). Individuals who use TDD may call the Federal Information Relay Service at 1-800-877-8339. Or you may contact us at the following address:

Family Policy Compliance Office

She didn't party much......uhmnnn. That is prime suspect. And Chelsea wanted to clean house! Sounds to me she would have been better off taught at home.

That means you are a sicko. You are probably pro-life, too.

Anyway, this was not the best story to read on a day when my homeschooled son just headed off for his first day at a public high school.

So? Without widespread existence of OCD these internet discussion boards would not exist!

Besides, you got a problem with OCD? We got rights.

"The worker told her that if her condition got any worse, her mom should bring her to the mental health center for treatment."

For what?..re-education? Nurse Ratchet will greet you at the door and give you a little red book.

What a fine way to spend our money. What a fine way to indoctrinate, and disable our childrens abiltity to fend for themselves. /s

OK, repeat after me, "Bush is good, Bush is good". Bush really isn't a conservative, in my book! He talks good, but he doesn't act like it...

Bigger Gum't than libs

Bigger Spending than libs

More attacks on people's freedom, and liberty. This "screening" program is like poking a stick in our eyes. When the gum't controls your kids, you lose! The "gum't" doesn't have your best interests, in mind!

I own guns. Heck, I own a lot of guns. Obviously I'm mentally ill.

Yet another reason to homeschool...

I homeschooled, so I was never faced with an issue of screenings or sex ed in a public school setting.

But my sister sent her kids to public school for awhile and she was always having to "opt out" her young children from the sex-ed classes (don't know if there were other screenings.)

My question to Chelsea's mom would be, if some parents knew enough to send in the opt-out form, how come she didn't know there was such a thing as an opt-out form?

If you choose to send your kids to public school, then you'd pretty darn well stay on top of what's going on in that school and what is in the curriculum.

The PPRA allows parents to inspect their children’s instructional materials and requires that schools obtain “written parental consent” before schools engage in such programs as mental health screening.

So why isn't this incident treated as a blatant violation of that rule?
