Script #2. I have been hired to write a bio-pic about a very famous Republican talk-show host. A man who has revolutionized the radio format. I decide that Im going to be up front with the studio executives.
Im not going to assassinate this man, I explain. If thats what you want, get another writer.
No, no, we want you to do it because you have such a good feel for character. Just be honest.
Im a moron. I believe them.
I go off and write the script. I hand it in and walk into a firestorm of a meeting. Ive been too gentle with the talk-show host, they say.
How? I ask.
Well, look at what hes done to this country, an executive challenges.
What, he has 25 million daily listeners who adore him. Whats he ever done except almost self-destruct on pain killers which I portray in all its awful detail.
But hes a hypocrite!
In what way?
Well, he talks about family values and look how many times hes been divorced!
Have they read the script? The script goes into why the man cannot make a true love match. Hes a sad man. Hes a lonely man.
I ask a really stupid question: Have any of you ever listened to him?
They gaze at me as if Im last weeks trash.
Just as I suspected. Not one of them has ever listened to his show. They all agree hes not worth listening to.
A few weeks later Im replaced by a writer whos a well-known Democrat. My agent tells me that this new writer is absolutely murdering this decent talk show host. Making stuff up, no doubt.
You see, Democrats in Hollywood, and pretty much everywhere, are not satisfied with debating the rights and wrongs of issues. It always comes down to personal attacks. Republicans are not just wrong, were evil. This talk show host is not simply wrong, hes a lying hypocrite.

Help! I'm A Hollywood Republican!
Sounds like it'll be another Fahrenhype 911 hit piece. Certainly, none of Rush's fans will be interested in watching it.
It's been a long time since a decent movie came out.
From your home page, looks like we have the same kind of bio. :-)
Scene 12: Rush Limbaugh sits on a pile of human skulls pondering the subject for the next day's radio broadcast. He suddenly begins to laugh maniacally...
Scene 14: Rush Limbaugh having some "quality time" on vacation. He is dressed as a big game hunter and is stepping through what looks to be a residential home's shrubbery. A brace of Spotted Owls hang off his belt...
Scene 17: In a setting not unlike the death star from Star Wars, a "sideways" perspective begins to slowly swing around the back of Rush. The music from Star Wars, the "Empire's March" is playing. Rush says in a deep baritone that sounds suspiciously like James Earl Jones, "Yes, my master". As the camera swings around Rush back, a giant view screen comes into view. There is a man in a dark cloak who looks like Karl Rove...
OK, it's probably as close as we're going to get to what Hollywood will do to the man...
Offend 25 million Americans. And they thought ticket sales were bad now. Not even I think they are that stupid.
One of the things that has always struck me when I encounter a person who really, really hates Rush is that after talking to them a few minutes, it's apparent they never listened to him for more than a few minutes-- if at all. Usually, they regurgitate talking points and legends they heard elsewhere. It's like Ken Hamblin noted about his own show some years ago-- you have to listen, every day, for at least a few weeks, maybe a month, to get any sort of idea about just where the host is coming from. You cannot "get it" from snippets.
I have to disagree.
I think they are that stupid.
As far as I can see, all Rush does is expose the truth and if you don't like him, you haven't listened because how can you not like someone for exposing the truth, unless of course the truth is about you and your twisted agenda. You might see him as being a little puffed up, but I see him as a man of confidence because he knows that he is telling the truth and the "truth shall set you free".
LOL, here's a thread that will make you happy - Summer Fading, Hollywood Sees Fizzle.
There was another thread yesterday about how hollyweird is hurting. And, I heard a question on Cavuto's show as to whether many conservatives are staying away to punish them for trashing Bush during the elections.
Rush has forthrightly taken on some capable callers from the Left in recent days, and has responded with some of the most cogent extemporaneous, political, verbal masterpieces of our time in response. His recollections, in excruciating detail from years and decades ago have been so far over the heads of his antagonists that there was little "left" to be said.
HF
Can Rush sue?
Ken Hamblin. I loved him, but he's not on any of the stations here anymore. He, the black avenger, was one of my favorites.
I have only managed to hear "snippets of snippets" ( driving interruptions ) of most of those calls, but Rush seems to be in top form batting back taunts from the Left.
Something is really bringing out the seminar callers and
HA! It's really not that complicated. People are staying away from the movies because there's nothing worth seeing.
Ken is the host closest to my own views- like your situation, here he was displaced by Hannity a couple of years ago, and I am still not pleased with that.
Michael Savage replaced him here and then Dr. Laura. I am definately not pleased with that.~!:)
If Rush is smart, he'll make his own movie about himself before Hollywood does.
