"A healthy American society would drive the MSM out of business tomorrow, because of its refusal to participate in their brainwashing crap."

I did my small part on Sunday by cancelling my subscription to the Seattle Times. Two above-the-fold front page stories about Cindy Sheehan in two days, plus a pro-Sheehan editorial on the second day, were the straws that broke the camel's back.

And God knows I hate if for you. My thanks to your family, those who bear the sacrifice.

"Sounds like Bush is fighting back.

All I can say is, IT'S ABOUT TIME!

With the MSM always preferring to take the critical stance, it's all the more important that Republican leaders stand up and demand to be heard. Otherwise the MSM will quickly give the appearance they are correct and the ship is rudderless.

So if that's the case, and we can't charge treason, but we're in power...can we deport them? : )

It's possible that the hundreds of thousands, even over a million Iraqi males eligible to crush the insurgency would actually crush the insurgency. Why does everyone think that Iraqis can't handle this problem when they have no one else to handle it for them? We're enabling them in their infantilism.

It's pretty obvious you don't know very much about the M.E. Before you are allowed to pose that question...you have to answer the question on how 20% of the country imposed it's will on the other 80% of the country for damn near 50 years....

"Wars are fought to be won. When you pull out they call that retreat - which means you have been defeated. When you start a war as we have, there are only two ways to go. I am rooting for our troops to win and not be defeated.

When did "pullout" come to substitute for the words retreat and defeat anyway?"

I think Bill had Monica write a memo to that effect when he was giving my kids SEX101 on the nightly news.

Can someone please explain to me why we don't put people on trial for treason anymore???

I have been trying to figure this out since about 1992. Lately, I have been more perplexed than ever.

Enabling them? Right - that is the purpose - to enable them to see that they have an opportunity of freedom and we are there to show them.

You know full well that they did not have the knowledge, the strength or the mindset to set up a democracy on their own. Afterall, they had generations of oppression as their heritage. How would you expect them to even know what democracy is? It is not something taught on their tv's.

When the people in the middle east get a taste of freedom, they themselves will see that a better life is available and that it is within their reach. Of course, each of them individually is a target of local terrorists that are united.

It is totally unrealistic to think that Iraqi citizens will dream up democracy, unify (without being slaughtered), teach others that a new life is worth fighting for, and have the skills and the equipment to mount a fight for democracy.

We have to stop the terrorists there in the middle east before they launch nuclear bombs on our cities. We would prefer fighting them in their homeland rather than ours. And, while there, we can train, teach and backup the Iraqis that come to see we are offering a wonderful chance for a new country for them - they must take it or live as slaves for ages.

Of course, this means you have to understand that even if we come home or had stayed home, the terrorists want to kill us and destroy America. It does not matter what we do.

Of course if you are of the persuasion that America is the evil one and caused all their own resentment, of course, you won't see this.

But, it is time that we wake up and realize that what the media presents as the truth is what the terrorists wish us to believe. Why do you think we have not been attacked here? Because an attack here would again mount a battle so fierce that even more terrorists would be condemned to hide in caves.

Instead, they prefer to work through our own media to plant the seeds of distrust of America's motives, to encourage the thought that there is nothing to fight for, that our soldiers are being killed needlessly. How much money do you think it would take to bribe our media moguls, our reporters?

A lot less money than mounting an attack and a lot safer for the likes of bin Laden. And, how wonderful that he would be able to bring America down through America's own people - same as we are doing in Iraq.

People need to look beyond their own selfish desires and see the big picture.

George Bush is right - freedom in the middle east is the most profound change we can bring for the future safety of America and the world. Don't know if we can do it - but, possibly with the Lord's help, it can be done.

"Note to President Bush.
They DON'T CARE if they are weakening American, causes more deaths among our troops. "THEY" are supporters of Islam and communism. "THEY" WANT TO SEE AMERICA DEFEATED!!!

When are you and the RINOcrats going to get that through your heads and quit thinking you can work with these people?"

Perhaps now. Perhaps when they realize these folks are a special brand of domestic insurgent and we all know there's no "working with" insurgents of any kind. Perhaps he needed the FReepers and the caravan. Perhaps he needs all of us, not just those headed to Crawford:

Bush said that two high-ranking member of his staff have already met with her.
Oh, and, BTW, just as an aside...

SO HAD THE PRESIDENT, ALREADY!!!

Gosh, I despise the AP. Only Reuters makes them look good.

Big-time PING. The AP had to leave this factoid out INTENTIONALLY to give its dumb readers the impression that our President had never, ever met her.

Now, I could not believe that Fox posted this article in this form, without adding language like "meet for a second time" or the Bush quote from today; "I met with her once before..." (or somthing like that).

But in a way, I'm glad Fox did. This glaring omission, plus the class-warfare tactic by saying he was at an "exclusive (rich man's) resort," only shows how much farther the MSM has gone leftward.

Not only arrested but they would have been beaten to a pulp and shunned by the people of the United States.
The 60's afforded a class of people the "right" to be unpatriotic and not face retribution (Carter's pardon of the run to Canada crowd).
Political correctness has run amok so that any criticism of motives is a personal attack.

"...they advocate a position that would weaken the United States."

Easy explanation for that:
the rabid Left is so consumed by their hatred for George Bush that they consider doing permanent damage to our country a small price to pay for defeating the President's programs!

Wow, that is a GREAT idea!

I wonder if he thinks pullouts from wars are ever a good idea or he just feels that a pullout from this war is a policy that would weaken the U.S.

Do you think that a pullout from this war is a good idea?

Or do you agree that it would weaken the US? (IMO, that's putting it mildly......he could have said it far more strongly and been completely accurate).
