Crawford Texas: Secret Service Refuses Anti-War Letter
To Bush; Takes Pro-War Items

Mimi Evans, spokeswoman for 'Military Families Speak Out'(mfso.org) in Crawford, Texas is reporting that the Secret Service refused their anti-war letter addressed to President Bush but they did take items from the pro-war people there.
NBC News was in Camp Casey this morning but they left today leaving no mainstream media present.
Camp Casey is now comprised of two camps -- one 3 miles away from the Bush Ranch and the other camp is a mile away.
There are about 100 people there now.
Country rock singer Steve Earle performed there this morning with 60's folk singer Joan Baez scheduled to perform tonight.
Author, Liz Carpenter, who served under three President's is expected to arrive in Crawford soon to support the anti-war activists.
Do these people not get it? Do they remember what happened to the anti-war candidates in 1968 and 1972? When the anti-Vietnam War crowd was at it's peak, their candidate - McGovern - suffered the most humiliating defeat in presidential election history.
You know the problem with that idea is that these people are so brain dead that you could send them over there and they could be captured by Al Qaeda terrorists. The terrorists would torture and starve them all for a month and then the troops would come in to rescue them. After all this they would go to the next 'Peace Rally' and talk about how the Neo-con Cabal of Evil headed by the un-elected president Bush sent the brain-washed baby-killing troops in there and they killed all the nice innocent terrorists that were taking care of them.
Thee and me as to being a conservative back then! Those people sent chills down my spine. Something inside me made me reel in disgust every time I had to be close to one. They shut down campus activities, they whined and they twirled. They were dirty, they stank, and they were soooo boring - playing their one-note dirge folk songs.
They haven't really "grown" very much in the last 40 years, have they?
Only thing they've "grown" is hemp.
Oh wait, they wouldn't call them terrorists. It would be the nice 'freedom fighters' *gag*
IIRC, Howlin, you're not a Rush fan. But what you say reminds me of his similar reaction to those types of people back then.
From a young age, he said, he hated those types so much he wanted nothing to do with anything that was identified with them, even to the point of wearing slacks and never denim jeans or anything denim because in his mind it so identified with hippies/radicals/anti-war protestors. (LOL...if Rush were from Texas or a more western state and not Cape Girardeau, MO, surely he would have seen denim in a different light.)
I know what he means about those people, but my people out here (good, decent, rural people...well, 'cept for a few bad apples like Willie Nelson and Jim Hightower) were identified with denim long before the hippies even existed.
Pol pot? Perhaps you can point out where I mentioned him in my post.
So true!
"They only wanted to talk our head off"
"No moonbat, they wanted to take your head off"
I am glad I was in gradeschool and not in college at that time. But even so, as a child, I thought they were irreverant and destructive.
Oh, you didn't; we were just discussing it on another thread because some of the hippies have indicated Bush is like Pol Pot; I just thought that you knew some things about Vietnam and the 60's and might be able to shed a little light on how they could compare Bush to Pol Pot.
---She is one hell of an artist.---
Joan Baez does the best "Swing Low Sweet Chariot" I've ever heard.
Pol Pot was in control of Cambodia at that time, and I can't imagine how anyone could compare such a vicious and savage murderer who slaughtered tens of thousands of his own people, to President George Bush. But I'm sure that won't stop them.
That's 2 million Cambodians to be exact.
I was in grade school in the sixties. The protesters just looked like spoiled whiners with nothing better to do. Happily by the time I got to college, protesting wasn't a popular past-time, although some of my instructors looked like leftovers from that era.
Steve Earle? They have sunk to the lowest of the lowest.
Perhaps those poll ratings drove away the network nutcases.
Now, can we have a new set of polls? LOL
LOL, didn't they Leave on a Jet Plane in a drug induced stupor years ago?
Unfortunately, it isn't over for quite a few of us. It will still be going as long as morons like Baez, sKerry and the like are walking around trying to relive their glory days. Many of us are still fighting to get the truth about it to all to the American people, especially younger ones in schools.
(and lives...)
(and brains...)
Latest News: Sheehan sniffs glue with nose junky Steve Earl. Both claim they don't want to die in Iraq if drafted without glue. "(sniff) We hear such stories" said Cindy. "I lost my mind there once" said Steve, "and I've (sniff) never been the same. Look out Cindy! There's a Copperhead coming out of your dress... Geez, they're everywhere... run.... Ahhhh."
