Please remember: the Canteen is a place to honor and entertain our troops. As such we attempt to keep it MOSTLY apolitical. Thanks for playing and have a nice day! LOL!!!

The Cubs are 18 games behind the Cardinals and 11 games out of a wild card spot ~ they have a tough road to hoe if they're gonna be in the playoffs.
Tom, wear the Cardinal tshirt with pride. ;)

LOL. Let's hope it is just a spare pair. But, then again, it might be an excuse to ship some goodies along with the boots!
p.s. did you give an account of the going away? I didn't see it.

I like summer, myself. But, I do enjoy when it cools off a little. I like temps in the 70s/80s, low humidity. I know this is more spring/fall than anything, but if our temps could be like this say from Feb thru Nov, then Dec & Jan temps about 50s, I'd be happy

Howdy! And, thanks. Now if we can just get some of the DJs to put on some rocking music, you can swirl that seersucker suit around the Canteen floor.

A member of a long-established Sephardic-family, Adolphus Solomons was a prominent businessman in Washington, DC. In the 1870s, his firm, Philip and Solomons, held a federal printing contract. In 1892, Solomons helped found the American Jewish Historical Society. He was best known, however, for helping to establish hospitals, public health programs and agencies for relief of the poor. His concern for human suffering drew Solomons to work toward the creation of an American Red Cross. Thank you, feathery one. God bless the founders of the American Red Cross.
