Also, Richardson's claim that driver's licenses will force illegals to get insurance is bogus! They will might get insurance to obtain the license but will cancel it quickly. Their license will then NOT be revoked!

NM has a program whereby if you cancel your insurance it is reported to the MVD automatically so that if stopped by LEO, the police know it immediately. I know the system works because when I sold my old P/U and cancelled the insurance (but didn't turn in the plate) I got a letter a few weeks later saying that if I didn't show proof I'd be in violation of the law. Of course, they don't come to the door to physically remove the license.
