Scream Baffles Ohio Town

LIBERTY, Ohio -- An unusual and noisy mystery has people in a small town north of Middletown on edge, worried and asking questions, News 5’s Brain Hamrick reported.

Liberty, Ohio, is a quiet little community, except for one thing -- the scream.

Jamie Young told Hamrick she heard it while she and her husband were walking one evening.

“It scared me. I didn’t want to finish my walk,” Young said.

But instead of running into her house, she said she recorded the noise and sent a tape to the local newspaper.

He then played this really weird sound (although the whale sounds weird too) that he said "We have NO idea what the heck that is. It's coming from the deepest part of the Antarctic trench (or some equally obscure place).

They sound exactly like a woman screaming. We used to live in the country, my husband was away, it was the middle of the night, I had the bedroom window open. I awoke to a blood curdling scream right outside my window, I sat upright in bed, I was frozen in fear. The children were asleep in another room and I wanted to run to them but I couldn't move. Then from a distance I heard the scream again and I knew it was a bird of some sort even tho I had never heard one before. I think the people in this story heard a screech owl.

Back in the 70's, there used to be this mentally disturbed guy who would stand on the street very quietly and then, when someone walked by, he'd let out this horrible scream- and scare the hell out of you. He did it once to me and I almost had a heart attack. Anyway, whenever I saw him standing around, I'd just wait on the other side of the street until someone else walked by him- and watch their reaction.

I thought the scream sounded more like "MINDFREAK". Was Criss Angel in or near Liberty, Ohio around that time? The scream sure freaked my mind anyway.
