If I hear another "Sending Prayers" "Praying for Harry Reid" I'm going to be sick.
Harry Reid doesn't deserve anyone's prayers. He is a dirty lying corrupt politician. While wishing ill on him is something I'd never do, praying for him is taking it a bit too far.
That's not for you to decide.
Show a little decency, not to mention civility.
We're not "them," remember?
I understand, Lauralee. I was doing a bit of soul searching over this news and decided that, while all you say is true, he is a human being and a child of God, however flawed, and resisted adding any hopes I MAY HAVE about any outcome. My religious beliefs trumped my personal feelings, but believe me, I understand what you are saying (and he is all of those things).
I wish none of the Dem's harm of any sort, the only thing I wish is that they were out of office!
I am afraid that there are just some of us that have a terminal case of "compassion"...
I know that we can get on threads and flame people like everyone else (see Cindy Sheehan)...but unfortunately (some think)...when it comes to someones health or life...
Some of us don't want to game to play on THOSE terms...
Of course everyone on FR is entitled to their opinions, AND their feelings towards certain people..
I dislike Harry Reid INTENSELY for how he acts...but I don't wish pain, or death on the man.
You are so right. I just flamed him a bit. He makes me sick.
PRAYERS for Harry Reid and his speedy recovery from what seems to be a minor stroke.
As you get older, you will realize there is a differentce between passions and emotions and discover that praying for even a scumball is the best you can do. The Bible calls it "heaping hot coals upon their heads" when you treat them good despite how bad they act. Besides, enough prayers may get god to touch him in a way that tempers that which you find most vile about him. Even if God doesn't touch Mr. Reid's heart, perhaps your prayers will get Him to touch your heart and give you more peace in the midst of the storm.
God Bless
You had to know this post was gonna bring you flame. I will say this, at least you are being honest. I always wonder how many people offer prayers when things like this happen because it's what they think they are supposed to do, but don't really mean it.
Events like this IMO really test our own senses of decency. As much as some would like to be genuinely sympathetic, they cannot find it within themselves to do it. I find myself in that category sometimes. My solution is to just say nothing and keep my ill thoughts to myself, and pray to see things differently.

Agreed.......... I think.
