Cindy Sheehan told reporters:

Well I believe that my son was killed by the policies of George Bush, you know, that none of those kids should be in Iraq at all...

"The person who killed my son, I have no animosity for that person at all. You know, I many Iraqi mothers who have been destroyed by our invasion and occupation which is illegal and immoral what we are doing over there. I have no animosity towards that person. I'd like to remind you that she said this during a phone call with a group of reporters, and I can't find a single instance of this remark reported anywhere. Perhaps that's because, reading the transcript, it becomes evident that the reporters are on Sheehan's side. "

The full transcript is available. I have to say, though, I do agree with the Kansas City Star ombudsman. Calling their reporter's question an antiwar speech is a bit much. Although, reading her question, it is full of multiple "I feel" and "likes". Hopefully the woman writes better than she speaks! In any case, her question, although innocuous in the extreme does not come off as anti-war, at least to me. Ms. Sheehan is another story, of course. She is spitting on her son's grave every time she opens her mouth.

I think she is setting up Congress to come back from recess and pick up her "bring home the troops" rhetoric even more...and the FACT that a mother of a slain Iraq soldier feels hatred and animosity towards President Bush, but NOT the terrorist...will just spur them on..IMHO, of course.

There is no real surprise here, after all sheehan spoke in support of Lynne Stewart at a Pro-Stewart Rally in SF on 4/27/05!!

For those who may not recall who Lynne Stewart is here is a little refresher:



Lynne Stewart has been convicted of enabling her client, the terrorist Sheik, Omar Abdul Rahman, to carry out his murderous agendas while in prison by helping him to communicate with his terrorist organization (radical Egyptian Brotherhood in Egypt.

Rahman was the spiritual leader of a cell that carried out the first World Trade Center bombing and was planning to blow up the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels.

Stewart was recruited to the Rahman case by Lyndon Johnson's Attorney General, Ramsey Clark, who has a long history of anti-American causes dating back to the Vietnam War.
