By ANDREW POLLACK Published: August 19, 2005 DOUGLAS, Ariz., Aug. 18 - Spent shells litter the ground at what is left of the firing range, and camouflage outfits still hang in a storeroom. Just a few months ago, this ranch was known as Camp Thunderbird, the headquarters of a paramilitary group that promised to use force to keep illegal immigrants from sneaking across the border with Mexico.
Now, in a turnabout, the 70-acre property about two miles from the border is being given to two immigrants whom the group caught trying to enter the United States illegally.
The land transfer is being made to satisfy judgments in a lawsuit in which the immigrants had said that Casey Nethercott, the owner of the ranch and a former leader of the vigilante group Ranch Rescue, had harmed them.
"Certainly it's poetic justice that these undocumented workers own this land," said Morris S. Dees Jr., co-founder and chief trial counsel of the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Ala., which represented the immigrants in their lawsuit.
Mr. Dees said the loss of the ranch would "send a pretty important message to those who come to the border to use violence."

Kinda a mini version of giving Israel to terrorists as a reward for murder, rape,torture,destruction...and now narco terrorism..
Half right: he just sensed that Fox is going for his wallet in his back pocket and is turning to the right to block him.
(But don't hold your breath for him to 'turn to the right' as our country suffers this invasion.)
Looking back at the past several years, I'd say it's quite believable.
It's a personal injury case -- the claim is that the rancher harmed them. If he did (and I guess that's what the trial found), then illegals have just as much right to sue over bodily harm as anybody else.
Just think, people are taking notes about our court system, and you can bet those looking at this case from south of the border are licking their chops.
Read the article again, it was a jury trial. I can almost 100% guarantee you it was a hispanic jury that found in their favor. Remember you dont have to have a unanimous vote in a civil proceeding. Same thing will happen over and over again as Hispanics bring their rascism, crime and corruption here.
further proof that our nation is insane

They don't even have to get themselves "roughed up". Apparently they can just accuse someone of roughing them up and still win a case on a "he said, she said" basis. Unbelievable!
If you live in the SW you need to learn at least one of the following things:
1.Spanish
2.Marxist values
3. The art of the rifle
Yup, that's what it is alright.
*If* true.
"What the hell is going on here?"
A man by the name of Cornwallis said it best, yeaaaarss ago when the paradigm was last shook-up this badly.
..."A world turned upside down."
If this stands the border will start to be litter with illegal bodies!
This "Hispanic" is not racist, nor am I a corrupt criminal or a juror whose decisions are based on someone's ethnicity. Perhaps you meant to say "illegal aliens?"
Or better yet, lets acquire it via eminent domain and give it back to the owner
I have a better idea.
Why doesn't someone enforce existing law, before the 'rule of law' disappears.
The "Southern Poverty Law Center" is, in many ways, much more insideous than the ACLU. This Morris Dees character is Marxist through and through; and he has gotten very wealthy, primarily from donations, along with the SPLC.
Unfortunately, the Reno Justice Department used the SPLC a great deal for advice about all sorts of things like Immigration, guns, etc. This use by the feds gave the SPLC a certain legitimacy that, in my opinion, they certainly do not deserve. You see them quoted in all sorts of publications now, and believe me, they are not protecting anyone's rights.
