By ANDREW POLLACK Published: August 19, 2005 DOUGLAS, Ariz., Aug. 18 - Spent shells litter the ground at what is left of the firing range, and camouflage outfits still hang in a storeroom. Just a few months ago, this ranch was known as Camp Thunderbird, the headquarters of a paramilitary group that promised to use force to keep illegal immigrants from sneaking across the border with Mexico.
Now, in a turnabout, the 70-acre property about two miles from the border is being given to two immigrants whom the group caught trying to enter the United States illegally.
The land transfer is being made to satisfy judgments in a lawsuit in which the immigrants had said that Casey Nethercott, the owner of the ranch and a former leader of the vigilante group Ranch Rescue, had harmed them.
"Certainly it's poetic justice that these undocumented workers own this land," said Morris S. Dees Jr., co-founder and chief trial counsel of the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Ala., which represented the immigrants in their lawsuit.
Mr. Dees said the loss of the ranch would "send a pretty important message to those who come to the border to use violence."

Who was the Judge...Greer?
This guy better apeal this, the Illegals have no standing here what so ever. New way to own land, sneak across the border and have a judge take land away from a citizen and give it to an ILLEGAL alien. We need to take some drastic action on judges like this.
On the other hand, this article is from the New York slimes and may be entirely false or large parts of it anyway. It may be a made up story altogether.
We need to take some drastic action on Morris Dees and the SPLC.
Only one comment:
One man says to a second man: "Do you believe in the First Amendment freedom of speech?"
The second man says: "Of course I do."
The first man then asks: "Do you believe in the Second Amendment freedom to bear arms?"
The second man replies: "No, I don't."
The first man insists: "Then shut up!"
The moral of the story is: you can have your rights, but you have to protect and defend them, too.
This needs to be appealed, and these two need to be deported, along with Mr. Dees (the child pervert.)
I saw this in Fox News this morning. I couldn't believe it. Surely, this will be overturned on appeal.
Dupe thread same title over here:
The surrender of the ranch comes as the governors of Arizona and New Mexico have declared a state of emergency because of the influx of illegal immigrants and related crime along the border.
All someone has to do is demonstrate they can get more tax revenue for the land vis-a-vis Kelo v New London.
here is just a few of their vaunted efforts to allow the poor oppressed masses access to our courts and country.
The stampeding sound you're about to hear is from the throngs of illegals who just found a way to beat the system. Show up on a property, get yourself roughed up, hire a lawyer. This is just....I'm speechless.
Maybe thats the real plan here. The illegals, who now own a sizable and likely valuable piece of property will not be able to pay the taxes and the county seizes it, sells it, and gets the cash.
All your ranch are belong to us...
