Why has this issue gone so quiet? Is there actually no new news? Are there no leaks from the SP? Will we have to wait for the SP before this issue gets resolved? I only have questions, alas.

Why has this issue gone so quiet? Why do you have to post a vanity in News/Activism? Why do we care about Wilson/Plame? Did it ever deserve to become a story to begin with?

The media runs stories for the headlines, not the details or the facts.
They are busy with the antiwar left right now.
DeLay and Rove have dropped off the radar too.

Once the special prosecutor issues a report they'll be back in the news.

There is no good indication that any of the leaks we've heard have come from the SP. It appears that they are primarily from lawyers for GJ witnesses.

what happen?
it's a non-story, no criminal issues. It was as most things, are a democratic smoke screen. A scandal wannabe. Actually leading back to Wilson and his testimony before congress which was the opposite of what he says now.

The media has had something much more exciting to occupy themselves with: the Cindy Sheehan story.

Original Star Trek was one of my favories, too. Is Miller still in jail? Who is she protecting?

I actually read the NY Times Editorial stating it was (paraphase) "just time let Judy out of jail; she's been there too long."
Brilliant! So, we should just let lawbreakers out of jail because they are "in too long."
Why is no one in the MSM investigating whom good ole Judy is protecting?? It's obviously not Rove.

I'm guessing she's still there. If she had been released it would have been all over the news.
She's probably starting to sweat now, realizing that Plamegate is flop and the press abandoned it for a mentally disturbed woman protesting in Texas.

"It's dead, Jim." Original Star Trek was one of my favories, too. Is Miller still in jail? Who is she protecting? The SP isn't cooperating with the 24 hour news cycle. Unlike Starr, this guy is running a very tight ship, and won't announce anything until his investigation is wrapped up. Frustrating to reporters.
Judith Miller may be protecting herself... she's apparently a target, not a source.

The neo-socialist are on summer vacation. Without leaks, anonymous statements and photo ops the news media just goes into stasis.

"Is Miller still in jail? Who is she protecting?"
Yes she is still in jail. And that is a very good question about who she is protecting. She never wrote a story, so we don't even have a hint from the public record. It ain't Libby or Rove -- they have given blanket permission for anyone and everyone to sing. We also pretty well know that Rove was not the source of Novak's info. Novak has said the person was not a partisan "bomb thrower." Clearly they rules out Rove. I don't know enough about Libby's reputation to know it rules him (Libby) out as well.
So, it is possible that there is some Whitehouse person who is the source for Judith Miller and even Novak. Would it be interesting to learn that Miller's source was CIA, Wilson or even Plame herself? I have absolutely no evidence of this, but it would make the story more interesting.
