BUTTE -- Actress Margot Kidder became a citizen of the U.S. Wednesday to avoid possible deportation to her native Canada when she begins protesting the war in Iraq, she said.
Kidder, best known for playing Lois Lane in the motion picture "Superman," was among 19 people who became citizens during a naturalization ceremony in federal court here.
"It means I can vote against anyone and everyone in elected office that in any way supported the Bush administration," said Kidder, 56, who has lived in this country for 34 years and has a residence in Livingston.
Dave Routzahn, director of the Immigration and Naturalization Service in Helena, vouched for her and the 18 other applicants. He said they have displayed good moral character, have been living in this country and are dedicated to its form of government.
Kidder said in an interview after the ceremony that her sole motivation was to protest the war in Iraq. She also criticized the Gulf War in the 1990s.

If she had a career we could boycott her.

The anti-Iraq war/hate Bush movement has become a casting couch for the Hollywood 'un-employed', has-been's and bit-players. The untalented Garafalo was recently awarded a guest spot in the low-rated 'West Wing'for her contributions to the 'party'. Kidder will compare notes with fellow lunatic Lawrence O'Donnell and surely get a part too, if not in the next M. Moore garbage. Al Franken , pre- Air America, was a fixture in the unemployment office.

Margot Kidder slept with Jesse Jackson.

This woman has so many screws loose she rattles when she walks. She'll prove to be a real asset to the left.

Margot Kidder?
Who's that?
To: Brian328i
Margot isn't crazy, or a junkie or drunk. Margot is just French-Canadian. :)

Didn't they find this nut wandering around Hollywood looking for a lift off the planet?

I wonder if Savage will come out with a sequel to his last book. Perhaps he could call it "Liberalism is for People with Mental Disorders".

You become a citizen of a country you don't like.
So you can criticize it without getting thrown out.
But their not throwing anyone out for that.
So your free to criticize it anyway.
Without becoming a citizen of the country.
But still... (repeat)

"Speeding" up is the keyword here!!! She's a nut case.
She should consider herself LUCKY to live in this country that has given her fame and fortune that she piddled away. Now she lives in Livingston Montana, a fabulously beautiful place.
Shame on her for protesting a war and the soldiers who are fighting to give her these liberties.

"Persecuted by the holier-than-thou media for too long, Margot's emerged from her car-crash decade with curses laid to rest. "My grandson sees me as Lois on TV every Christmas, and that scores me points. And my pro-choice activism keeps me busy." All is rosy. Isn't it? "God, George Bush makes me want to slash my wrists. He's so embarrassing I have to leave the room when he's on the news. What a monkey."Can someone send her a knife?

Poor Margot had a well publicized breakdown years ago (naked and covered in her own feces in a stranger's yard IIRC). The only reason she has worked at all in the last twenty years is specifically because she is canadian and is therefore worth soft dollars equal to @ 8% of the budget for films shot under "Canadian Content" or "Official co-Production" rules as codified by both federal and provincial law in Canada. This is the same reason the Tilly sisters get work.
