Bonds must like the secluded life

Barry Bonds had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee in January. He's still out.
Gives a man time to think, a long leave of absence like that. About his life. About his career. About whether it makes sense to come back at all.
Crazy talk? Well, sure, but tell me what about Barry's recent behavior has been particularly bright.

For an antonym, see "dis," as in disrespect, dishonor.
"Hey yo . . . yo . . . don't be dissin' da man, he earned his props . . . "

'Props' is an archaic term taken from urban street culture.
'Give him props' is a term dorks use to sound cool when they really mean to say 'Give him credit'. There's a low level employee in my office that talks like this all the time: "Yo!", "That's the bomb!", "Oh, snap!", and so forth.
Everyone hates him.

Take your anger and hatred somewhere else!Frankly, I'm a little surprised you're not content to allow teawithmisswilliams to be teawithmisswilliams. :)

I don't know if "props" is an abbreviation, but the general meaning would be to give credit where credit is due.

I have never taken steroids, and I've probably lifted weights 10 times in my entire life, so everything I know about this is what I've read and heard. But my understanding is that if one takes steroids and sits around watching TV all day one will not get any bigger or stronger, and that the advantage afforded by steroids is due to the user's ability to work out many hours a day without getting tired.

But, that's all the Giants have this year... 6 games back with 6 weeks to go, wish it was better but I will take that considering we do not have Bonds or our #1 closer all year.

Well few people are going to take steroids to get large to play sports and just sit on the chair all day long. Doesn't make sense to me to do that. Steroids for valid medical conditions prescribed by a doctor, yes. But, these guys take these steroids to be stronger, to come back quicker, to develop more strength. Yes, it is hard to hit a 95 MPH baseball. But, if you can, and you have the added bulk to drive it harder and further, thus Bonds, Sosa, Palmero, McGuire style homeruns 475 feet away, and reap the huge mega contracts of $$$ that brings.

In the song "Respect," Aretha Franklin sings something like "give me my propers when I get home" (it's kinda hard to understand, but I think that's what she says). I think "propers" (or whatever) refers to "proper respect," and if so it may be the origin of giving someone "his props."

I am from Pittsburgh originally, and have followed Barry Bonds' career relatively closely from a statistical and public pronouncements standpoint. His stats are beyond incredible and astounding! Translation: You're a Barry Bonds fan, and it's OK that he got to where he is by cheating.

Would Bonds be allowed to take "steriods" under the medical supervision of his surgeon for his knee surgery? or are all steriods banned from baseball?

My point is that a player who gets big by working out *without* steroids (but maybe with supplements or whatever) who then stops working out as hard or as often will invariably get smaller, unless he still intakes as many calories as when he was working out, in which case he will get fat and flabby. Of course, a player who got big by taking steroids and working out like a madman will get smaller once he stops taking steroids (and thus won't be able to work out as hard or as often), so that's certainly a possibility as well. My point is that it is impossible to tell merely by looking at a player's physique whether or not he used to take steroids and then stopped.

He was a disgrace to baseball prior to the roids revelations. Never ran out infield balls..took Saturdays off in front of the home crowd..You can put lipstick on a pig if you want but he's one bad egg.
