Candlelight vigils protest war in Iraq (FREE REPUBLIC AND KRISTINN MENTIONED!)
CNN ^ | 8/18/05

Some critics say Sheehan is exploiting her son's death to promote a left-wing agenda supported by her and groups with which she associates. They say scores of Americans, including relatives of soldiers killed in Iraq, support Bush and his plans to keep troops there.

FreeRepublic.com, which holds rallies to support troops and to counter anti-war demonstrations, planned to hold a pro-Bush rally Wednesday night at the same time and same Washington, D.C., park as a candlelight vigil there.

"For us the organizers of the vigil are phony-baloney, betraying the sacrifices that those, men and women make in Iraq, by demanding that we pull our troops out now and leave Iraq to go to hell," said Kristinn Taylor, co-leader of the group's Washington, D.C., chapter. "This is a publicity stunt."

Also mentioned in the Heald Sun:

Meanwhile, a group called FreeRepublic.com held a pro-Bush rally in the same Washington, D.C., park where 300 people had gathered for a candlelight vigil. At one point, members of the two sides had a heated exchange over who was more patriotic.

"If they don't want to support it, they don't have to support it," said Iraq war veteran Kevin Pannell, who had both legs amputated after a grenade attack last year in Baghdad. "That's the reason I lost my legs."

CNN gives the Left the first 10 paragraphs and the last 6. That's fair and balanced. < \ sarcasm >

CNN just mispelled synagogue as "synogogue" and then, after a bit, corrected their spelling.

CNN was doing 30 second reports at the bottom of the hour on the "vigils" this morning and not only mentioned the "pro-Bush/pro-War" supporters but showed our peeps in living color outside the WH!

I was following a car sporting one of the 'Dissent is Patriotic' bumper stickers, which forced me to do some thinking.

Basically, I concluded that anyone that dissents from fighting the GWOT is either 1) Mentally incompetent, 2) profoundly unpatriotic ir 3) Both of the above.

That is, too mentally incompetent to grasp that the Islamonazis want to kill anyone that won't convert to their beliefs, or profoundly unpatriotic because they believe that our country and all it stands for is not worth fighting, let alone dying, for.
