Cindy Sheehan: Commander In Grief (Ann Coulter)
Universal Press Syndicate ^ | August 16, 2005 | Ann Coulter

Posted on 08/17/2005 4:23:15 PM PDT by Sam Hill

To expiate the pain of losing her firstborn son in the Iraq war, Cindy Sheehan decided to cheer herself up by engaging in Stalinist agitprop outside President Bush's Crawford ranch. It's the strangest method of grieving I've seen since Paul Wellstone's funeral. Someone needs to teach these liberals how to mourn.

Call me old-fashioned, but a grief-stricken war mother shouldn't have her own full-time PR flack. After your third profile on "Entertainment Tonight," you're no longer a grieving mom; you're a C-list celebrity trolling for a book deal or a reality show.

We're sorry about Ms. Sheehan's son, but the entire nation was attacked on 9/11. This isn't about her personal loss. America has been under relentless attack from Islamic terrorists for 20 years, culminating in a devastating attack on U.S. soil on 9/11. It's not going to stop unless we fight back, annihilate Muslim fanatics, destroy their bases, eliminate their sponsors and end all their hope. A lot more mothers will be grieving if our military policy is: No one gets hurt!

Fortunately, the Constitution vests authority to make foreign policy with the president of the United States, not with this week's sad story. But liberals think that since they have been able to produce a grieving mother, the commander in chief should step aside and let Cindy Sheehan make foreign policy for the nation. As Maureen Dowd said, it's "inhumane" for Bush not "to understand that the moral authority of parents who bury children killed in Iraq is absolute."

I'm not sure what "moral authority" is supposed to mean in that sentence, but if it has anything to do with Cindy Sheehan dictating America's foreign policy, then no, it is not "absolute." It's not even conditional, provisional, fleeting, theoretical or ephemeral.

The logical, intellectual and ethical shortcomings of such a statement are staggering. If one dead son means no one can win an argument with you, how about two dead sons? What if the person arguing with you is a mother who also lost a son in Iraq and she's pro-war? Do we decide the winner with a coin toss? Or do we see if there's a woman out there who lost two children in Iraq and see what she thinks about the war?

Dowd's "absolute" moral authority column demonstrates, once again, what can happen when liberals start tossing around terms they don't understand like "absolute" and "moral." It seems that the inspiration for Dowd's column was also absolute. On the rocks.

Liberals demand that we listen with rapt attention to Sheehan, but she has nothing new to say about the war. At least nothing we haven't heard from Michael Moore since approximately 11 a.m., Sept. 11, 2001. It's a neocon war; we're fighting for Israel; it's a war for oil; Bush lied, kids died; there is no connection between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaida. Turn on MSNBC's "Hardball" and you can hear it right now. At this point, Cindy Sheehan is like a touring company of Air America radio: Same old script and it's not even the original cast.

These arguments didn't persuade Hillary Clinton or John McCain to vote against the war. They didn't persuade Democratic primary voters, who unceremoniously dumped anti-war candidate Howard Dean in favor of John Kerry, who voted for the war before he voted against it. They certainly didn't persuade a majority of American voters who re-upped George Bush's tenure as the nation's commander in chief last November.

But now liberals demand that we listen to the same old arguments all over again, not because Sheehan has any new insights, but because she has the ability to repel dissent by citing her grief.

On the bright side, Sheehan shows us what Democrats would say if they thought they were immunized from disagreement. Sheehan has called President Bush "that filth-spewer and warmonger." She says "America has been killing people on this continent since it was started" and "the killing has gone on unabated for over 200 years." She calls the U.S. government a "morally repugnant system" and says, "This country is not worth dying for." I have a feeling every time this gal opens her trap, Michael Moore gets a residuals check.

Evidently, however, there are some things worth killing for. Sheehan recently said she only seemed calm "because if I started hitting something, I wouldn't stop 'til it was dead." It's a wonder Bush won't meet with her.

If Cindy has genuine grief, a point I doubt, then she has a whole pot of serious guilt to go along with it, just like Nick Berg's father. Each one did his or her level best, before the Islamofascist subhumans murdered his or her child, to encourage the Islamofascists and hamstring America's ability to defend itself. In other words, each did his or her best to encourage his child's murderers to murder that child, thereby becoming an accessory before the fact in the child's murder. Now they're trying to frame George Bush for it to evade their own guilt. Contemptible.

Your right and Thank You for your service and sacrifice, we can never repay. You may like this:

How bad would it be to wake up every day in a Country you Hate?? How miserable would your life be to know that you are going go through your day talking to people who think your nuts?? How bad would it be knowing that there are hundreds of millions around the World that would gladly trade places with you in a nano second? To know that over 60 million Americans voted for the man you most despise in the World and would vote for him again if given another chance. To know that you will be living in the Country that you hate for the rest of your life. In other words, how would it be to be a member of the Same Stream Press?

Liberals have been lecturing us for the past 50 years about how wrong America is and how many crimes we have committed against humanity, yet they ignore all that we do right. We have a Country though far from perfect, has become the greatest experiment of human freedom in the history of mankind. We pride ourselves on giving the most vile hate filled numbskull a stage to spew their braindead drivel as an example for our love of Freedom.

The perfect example is Camp Hate Bush down at Crawford. This female who raised a hero has every right to spew whatever hatred she desires. The Stone Age Press has the same right to attempt to turn this into the club of the month to beat President Bush and the Troops. They have the right to ignore our soldiers who agree with the President if ever given the chance to speak. We have the same right to label them as raging anti-American terrorist supporters.

To go through life living in a Country full of people that you hate has got to be as depressing a life imaginable. To live in a Country as great as America and hate her has to be double jeopardy. Where you going to move, Cuba, Canada, France or some other Turd World Country? Of course not, so your going to stay here in your cushy job that pays 100 times the World average, driving your Oil for Blood guzzler and going home to your oversized house to moan about BushCo and Big Oil masking your own guilt. Can there be a worse self imposed prison sentence?? Wouldn’t a self imposed Death Sentence be far more humane?

How difficult is it be to root for America every once in a while to ease the pain. We Conservatives may not like everything about this gummit or the ex-perv’s, but we love our Country, it’s opportunities and Americans. We look forward to getting up every morning knowing that we are living in the Greatest Country and economy in histoir! We love the invisible hand of Capitalism with all the freedoms it allows.

We understand the absolute morality of this War and the freeing of another 50 million slaves from tyranny. We know Freedom has a cost. We understand that Cindy’s son gave his life so that a child in Iraq will grow up to enjoy the same Freedom as Casey’s mother. That this boy may have a chance to grow up and become President of his Country. That this boy will not become a Terrorist if he has a future. That this boy will change the Middle East and the World for Peace.

Iraq already enjoys a far more open and varied press than we have. All we have are Yellow Dog Democrats who would Vote for Jesus if he had “Dem” next to his name, revising our news. Well maybe not Jesus, but anyone else.

To Liberals America’s glass is always 100% empty. Their life is a penance waiting for their Communist Utopia. No matter what this Country does it will always be criminal to these people and they will always make excuses for Communist atrocities. The bulk of these people are aging Granola Grinders who refuse to admit that they were wrong about Communism. If these people are so smart, how come they can’t invent a new chant every decade or two? Hey hey ho ho, whoever we hate’s gotta go! How boring dull and tired just like the “peace” sign.....yawn!

They grew old believing PravdABDNC and look at America as the military industrial complex of evil. Now they are just old and bitter, pining for America back on her knees wearing a baby blue beret. America has passed them by and we are looking at these angry old hate-filled protestors in the rearview mirror. It shows their political grandstanding on piles of uniform dead soldiers that are used for their stage props . We see the heroic courage and selfless sacrifice that our Troops freely give to the innocent Iraqis passing through the looking-glass of history.

How bad would it be to wake up every day in a Country you Hate?

Pray for W and Our Freedom Fighters

I wonder if Cindy ever really grieved or was all that sorry about Casey's death. After all, she viewed his mission and service as an abomination, something equivalent to making a living through home invasion, rape, and murder. Thus, by the way of thinking of leftists, he simply got what he deserved when he was killed.

I totally agree. I'm now convinced she isn't grieving at all. It's pure political theater.

7thson - I couldn't agree more. If our guys aren't there to win we should pack up and come home. One American life is too much to pay if we aren't serious about winning.</p>

You know in baseball, sometimes they would figure out a tick or something that clued you into a curveball or fastball. The hitter, with the clue, would knock the ball out of the park.

The UN gave Saddam a two and a half month tipoff that the coalition forces were coming.

So...if you were Saddam would you be fool enough to leave all that stuff laying around...knowing if the coalition were successful...you would be on trial?

Don't be silly...even Saddam is NOT that stupid.

Of course they are either well hidden or shipped to wicked old Syria!

"Knowing" you as I do, of that I have no doubt. Your emotional maturity appears to me to be as developed as your intellectual capacity, and achieving a twofer like that is one that eludes so many.

"This country is not worth dying for."

Suggested letter to the editor ---

"This country is not worth dying for."
    - Cindy Sheehan, August 2005.

Contemplate the above quote and then ask yourself, "Is it any wonder that the Media and others on the American Left have chosen this woman as their national heroine?"

You know who Sheehan reminds me of? Tom Mauser! Remember him? Kid got killed at Columbine, and he's made a very good living off that event ever since. Regularly goes to the NRA headquarters in Virginia and deliberately gets arrested. 'Look at me!', just like Sheehan.

I truly believe that, if given the opportunity, Mauser(ironic name, huh) would shoot Wayne LaPierre.

You have poisonous snakes in your kitchen.

You can kill them and anyone who keeps putting them there,Or you can abandon your kitchen.

My guess from your post,Is that you'd be cooking in your bathroom.......for a little while anyways,Until the snakes show up there.

So there is only one way to deal with them.

Hunt them down and kill them.

It ain't rocket science,But I'm amazed at the number of absolutely clueless people out there.

I just followed the link and e-mailed this story. This is one worth e-mailing. I hope it makes one of the Top Ten e-mailed stories. She's verbalized how shameful this woman is.
