Aren't Napolitano and Richardson both dems? Must be pretty bad for them to do this.

It is an election ploy for the Dems. They know that the American people are getting fed up with the illegal immigration situation. The Republicans are moving way to slow in addressing the issue.

Definately tough for our AZ gov. She just made sure that proposition 200 wouldn't be applied.
What in the world made her change her mind?!?!?

Dems trying to beat Repubs to the punch, because they saw in polling majority Repubs care about it, only like 2% of dems do, either way.
Hopeing to give rise to 3rd party canidates and split the Repub. vote in '06 and possibly '08.

All talk thus far. Neither one has shown these colors before. Just the opposite.
As far as I am concerned, it's BS until I see AP photos of convoys of trucks hauling illegals south.
Most DIM politicians would screw their mothers for a leg up in the next election.
However, since the average voter has the memory of a dog and the IQ of turnup, these guvs will score points. A lot of people are to the point where they will vote for the devil if he will secure the border.

From everything I've read and heard, it IS that bad down there along the border. I can't imagine what the lives of our fellow U.S. citizens are like who have to live with these illegals coming through their towns and private property. I could go on and on.....makes me so angry that some folks still just don't get it at all. I think those who have a problem with doing something to secure our borders are either ignorant, selfish, and/or employ illegals to save a buck.

Richardson is running for pres in 08, she is up for election next year, I think.
Look at what they DO, not what they SAY. There are several bills that are the opposite in meaning to this action.

For the last two years she's been vetoing every single measure that would help stop the flow of illegals. Suddenly, Richardson does something and Janet was right along side of him.

It can't be. Howling Dean was on TV saying that Republicans would be the ones using immigration as a wedge issue....

Maybe they are being forced to. If not it may be political suicide. Otherwise they wouldn't bother.

Rush said today that Napolitano's state (Arizona?) closed 11 hospital emergency rooms because illegals were using them and not paying.

It is pretty bad for the taxpayers in their states. However, they have figured out this is going to be a hot-button with voters and are playing it for all it is worth.

I reckon it's no worse than it's ever been. However, the Dems have obviously been looking at the polls, as is their wont, and they know that the border is a major wedge issue for Republicans.
Bush has left himself wide open for this. I wish he and our Republican friends in Congress would get their collective butts together and solve the border issue in time for 2006.

Yah, bad for the Republicans. Bad for Dubya. Bad for 2006. I have to give the demonrats credit though. This might be just what they need to take back Congress in 2006.

It's a subtle attack on Bush and his "immigration" policy. If it takes nothing worse than political embarrassment to get the White House to re-think it's proposal of allowing card-carrying immigrants to cross the border, I'm all for it.
