Able Danger official identified

Able Danger official identified. Delco Times columnist Gil Spencer, who has long covered Curt Weldon's Pennsylvania district, has just interviewed the Able Danger official who is going public tonight on Fox News. Spencer is the first journalist I am aware of to reveal the identity of the Able Danger official who originally briefed the 9/11 commission staff about Able Danger's findings back in October 2003 at Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan. That official is DIA Ltn. Col. Tony Shaffer. He served in a liaison capacity between Able Danger and the Special Operations Command (SOCOM) in Tampa, Florida, and he flew into Afghanistan with special ops in a boots on the ground capacity. (Shaffer confirmed to Spencer that he is indeed the "Anonymous" who has posted some comments about Able Danger over at Inteldump, by the way.) More soon on their interview. It's still a bit vague as to what exactly on Atta and the "Brooklyn cell" the Able Danger team came up with, but Shaffer did tell Spencer that the Able Danger team briefed then Special Ops commander, now Army Chief of Staff Pete Schoomaker on their findings. Shaffer also told Spencer that he had met with Pentagon intel czar Stephen Cambone in the E-ring today about the Able Danger issue, so clearly the Pentagon is paying attention. Stay tuned.

Okay Hillary....Let's see you run on Bubba's record with this as the backdrop. Dean was kinda hinted on Sunday that the male candidates weren't exactly willing to throw the nomination to Hillary.

Someone warn him to watch out for New York Times reporters and former Clinton administration employees.

Your repeating yourself!

This is beginning to get interesting. How do you allow Gorelicker and Ben Venista on the Commission and not Carville???

Cindy Sheehan got more attention in one hour on Saturday than this story will.
Fight the good fight, but don't expect any press from
ABC, NBC, CBS or CNN.

Lt. Col. Schaeffer told Tony Snow this Morning that the "Military has" my back.

I'm sure he made sure of that before he came "out".

BTW, Cambone is an honest guy. If he's really part of this, he'll be investigating in his own way. He's now Dep. Sec of Defense on Intelligence!!

Stand back. I hope this last's for more than a week. The MSM is going to try their darnedest to bury this thing because there are so many bones and it's going to bring up some truths that Bubba and the Beast are NOT going to like.

It would be nice to see Senator Pirro questioning the Beast under oath.

You asked, "surely there are copies?"

When papers of this sort get turned over to the National Archives, others feel justified in emptying their classified safes - as in burn bags.

Truly, Sandy Burglar may have taken the only remaining copies of incriminating evidence against Bubba. After all, if the other copies were in the White House or Pentagon, those would have been destroyed on Bubba's request, wouldn't they?

I believe we now know what Burglar was after, when he was stuffing those papers in his pants and socks. He was getting rid of the only remaining evidence of what Clintoon knew and when he knew it.

Great, isn't it?

I sure hope there isn't a flurry of new Arkancide. I trust Lt. Col. Schaeffer when he says that the Military has his back, or he wouldn't be speaking out, but still.....

Thirty-three suspiscious deaths associated with the Clintons is 33 too many.

I'm just not sure about all this, I'd like to believe we can hunt the Terrorists like this, and the 9/11 commission needs to be taken down a few pegs. But, I just read this and it looks to me like Shaffer just wants to get paid by the talk shows. 16 months on administrative leave?

"Shaffer's lawyer, Mark Zaid, said Wednesday that Shaffer does not have documentation related to Able Danger because his security clearance was suspended in March 2004 because of "petty and frivolous" reasons. They include a dispute over mileage reimbursement and a charges for personal calls on a work cell phone, Zaid said.

Shaffer, an Army reservist, has been on paid administrative leave for the past 16 months, Zaid said. He was an active Army major during his involvement with Able Danger, Zaid said. "

I have noticed that the media . . .including Fox News. . .likes to say; Able Danger knew/warned of Atta (et al) before 9/11; rather than giving dates that distinguish easily, quickly. . .between GW's first few months. . .and Clinton's eight years.

This really annoys me; just heard them again. . .

That guy is a four-star general officer, unlike this Light Colonel. Don't know for sure why his mug was posted (not that I did any research on it- it's bedtime}.

I wonder if Sandy might not have destroyed the underwear and sock documents, but kept them safe and sound in case Clinton ever tried to put the screws to him.

You're absolutely right....Remember, when only one person stashes something, it is of no value unless a second person is involved to take care of the scenario of "In case my death is suspicious, the papers can be found at...."

The FBI searched his premises....so they're not there....But did they look behind the third brick from the left, eighth row up on the fireplace???? :-) Signed....Physic
